Terra Invicta is a very complex game that a casual gamer will first see. When a casual gamer sees the tech tree, they might try to run for cover.
Stay tuned to better understand the tech tree and what to focus on first.
The tech tree in Terra Invicta is loved and hated by many. It is simply chaotic and once you open it you might experience performance issues with your PC.
It does need some tweaks and getting it better, and we sincerely hope that the devs are working on it, but once you get past that you can easily understand it.
In this guide, I will be telling you what to focus on first in the Terra Invicta tech tree and why. Let’s get started.
What to Focus On First in the Terra Invicta Tech Tree
Focusing on the tech tree is different for each type of faction that you play in Terra Invicta. That means that if you are playing some peaceful faction, you will need to rush for those types of techs.
If you are going for the resistance, I recommend it if you are a beginner, you will need to go for the protection of Earth, but not for the total annihilation of the aliens.
If you are playing with the Humanity First faction you will want to go for total destruction and fully pick up the destructible tech perks.
If you are playing with an economy trade faction, you might want to go for the hab option and look for another suitable planet to move to and etc.
Best Beginning Tech Tree Options
Early on, I try to get space techs and resources I need, like ops and boost, from the science project that gives orgs that make them.
I then try to get the tech to industrialize space and make ships to defend earth. I hurry to get the fifth councilor, mine the moon, and find aliens.
I try to get the fifth counselor as soon as possible, then I get the alien detection and deep sky watch so I can steal some academy bases.
However, once when I did this, the EU broke up, and the part that France led went to war with Korea, Japan, and Singapore (which I owned).
Usually, I don’t have much trouble with the Academy, and I don’t attack them because they’re not my enemies. However, in that game, they were really mad at me.
Also, you want to go for finding a way to find alien bases so that you can get that global opinion bonus. Mining in space on the moon and Mars is both very good to have.
How to Understand the Tech Tree in Terra Invicta
The large Technology Tree is one of the things that makes Terra Invicta hard to learn for new players. In fact, it could be one of the scariest tech trees in all RTS games.
But it’s important to learn how this mechanic works because you’ll be going back to it often to make upgrades.
The game will give you goals that will help you find your way through its huge tech tree. These goals will help you decide which parts of the tree you want to study more closely.
So, I really think you should pay attention to those tips since they will make it much easier to look through your tech tree.
You’ll have plenty of time to figure out which technologies are worth upgrading and which ones aren’t as you play the game for hours and hours.
At that point, you have to try it out for yourself, but it’s best to start learning it earlier.
Conclusion
That is all that you need to know about the tech tree in Terra Invicta. It is a very complex thing, but at the end of the day, just dive in and choose whatever sounds the most interesting.
Do not give it much thought. You are in it for fun and immersion. Pick whatever suits best for your type of game style that you are going for and you won’t regret it.
Just whatever it is that you choose, make sure to pick the tech perks that I’ve stated above so you can at least be sure that you will have a good game.
I hope that this guide has helped you out and given you a good starting boost in your early game. Have fun investing in your tech tree!
