How the Wellspring Works in Wylde Flowers
The Wellspring is unlocked early in the game, after learning about the coven and fully unlocking the forest biome. With it, players unlock a magic bar, that works similar to stamina but is only reduced when crafting incantations and dealing with magic.
There are two main ways to refill the magic bar:
- Eating certain foods like wine
- Offering gifts to the wellspring
For this guide, we’ll focus on the second way that involves the wellspring.
Players can offer many items to the wellspring and each item increases the magic bar by a certain amount. Naturally, some items increase the magic bar by a larger percentage, while others are barely noticeable and aren’t worth offering.
Best Items for the Wellspring
Some items are extremely efficient for the wellspring since they are easy to find and increase the magic bar significantly. Hovering above the item before throwing it shows exactly how much the magic bar will increase after the item is offered.
Here are some of the best items to offer to the wellspring:
- Poppy
- Moonflower
- Moly Flower
- Mushrooms
While all of these are great, make sure to never run out of a single resource. Especially moon flowers and poppies, which are used for magic, don’t grow in the winter. It’s important to always have a surplus of them.
Mushrooms on the other hand, while they don’t increase the wellspring by much, are available in large quantities and have no other uses. If you have an excess of mushrooms, using them for the wellspring isn’t a bad idea.

An easy way to verify these is to empty your magic bar, then do a trial fill but don’t click “Donate”. Instead, click away, and then try the next item.
