How to Access the Forest
Accessing the first part of the forest is straightforward. Players need to walk there from the village. It’s located just east of the main town, right after Parker’s store.
Within the forest, other than foraging materials, players will find Shelby’s house in the top right corner, some fishing hotspots, a large tree that plays an important role in the story, and many trees/rocks that can be farmed.
However, players will also notice some vines on the top left corner blocking access to a part of the forest. Let’s see how to remove them.
How to Remove the Vines Blocking the Forest
To remove the vines blocking the forest passage, players will need to progress the main storyline with Grandma Hazel.
Specifically, after roaming around the forest at night, players will notice many masked people going through the vines. One of these people will be Grandma Hazel.
The next morning, players will get the option to talk to Grandma Hazel about what happened. Then, they will learn about magic and the coven, and get invited to join Grandma Hazel the next night while she goes through the vines.
From then on, the vines will be removed and players will be able to access the forest fully at any time.

All New Materials in the Forest
The forest includes a wide variety of new materials that can only be found there.
Here are all of them:
- Peanut
- Toadstool
- Moonflower
- Cricket
- Mandrake
Also, while not unique to the Forest, players can find a lot of trees and logs if they need wood. The same goes for mushrooms, if they can’t find enough on their farm.
Also, if you’re having trouble gathering wood, upgrading the axe is your best option.
