Genshin Impact: How to Defeat Anemo Hypostasis [Boss Guide]

When fighting bosses in Genshin Impact you will not have to worry only about their HP and damage, instead you will need to look out for their patterns and moves too.

Stay tuned to find out how to defeat Anemo Hypostasis in Genshin Impact.

Anemo Hypostasis might not be the hardest boss to defeat in Genshin Impact, but he certainly is one of the more tricky ones.

Whatever strategy you might try on him you are doomed to fail if you didn’t know about his attack patterns. They can one-shot you at times!

That is why in this guide I will try to explain as much as possible about Anemo Hypostasis and how to defeat this boss. Let’s get started.

Where to find Anemo Hypostasis?

This is the Starfall Valley region. You can see Mondstadt in the picture above as it is in the region. When you will be in the city, you want to make your way to the top right corner of the map.

Let’s zoom in on the highlighted circle this time.

Where the arrows are pointing is where you will find the boss Anemo Hypostasis. Once you come here you look for the shrine building area. It is easily noticeable in the thick forest.

Anemo Hypostasis has an evil twin brother – Cryo Hypostasis.

How to Defeat Anemo Hypostasis?

It is recommended to avoid the Anemo Hypostasis when it attacks since it is immune to damage while the cubes are around its body.

Additionally, if you go too near, it has attacks that will suck your characters in! So in short, Keep your distance!

After the Anemo Hypostasis’s attacks are over, it becomes open to damage, giving you a chance to do damage without being blocked.

It’s important to know how the Anemo Hypostasis attacks and when you should get closer to it. So only ever attack when he is vulnerable. The timing is perfect for this.

When the HP of an Anemo Hypostasis gets low enough, it will send out Floating Orbs to heal itself. Use the Wind Currents to pick them up and heal yourself.

This will stop the Anemo Hypostasis from healing itself. If he doesn’t heal himself, it means that he is prone to dying. His death is something that you are after!

There are certain characters that exceed and are the best in collecting these flying healing orbs. So maybe consider playing one of these to make your life easier when fighting Hypostasis.

After you are done with the blocking of the orbs comes the damage phase.

If you want to get Anemo Hypostasis materials quickly, use characters that deal a lot of damage all at once. This means that a big and quick damage burst is essential to take him down.

You can also have more than one element in your party to increase the damage done by Elemental Reaction. Now just time your strikes and he will go down easily.

Anemo Hypostasis Phases

As every boss in Genshin Impact, the Anemo Hypostasis will also get a couple of phases taht you’ll need to go through in order to kill him. He has a total of 2 phases.

First Phase

The best way to beat the Anemo Hypostasis boss is to take advantage of the gaps it leaves between each set of attacks.

Because of its armor, this boss can take any damage that comes it’s way, so all it does is stand still until the player starts a fight.

When a few seconds have passed, this boss will make its first move. It can only attack a certain number of times, and he will almost always leave himself open to harm.

When it comes to hitting and running, players have to learn how to do it at just the right time. When this boss’s HP drops to 5%, the fight will move on to the next phase.

Second Phase

The second phase starts when the boss’s health is down to 5%. This is something very similar as the Cryo Regisvine.

At 5% HP, the boss will stop what it’s doing and stand in the middle of the arena where it can’t be hurt. Then it will call up gusts of wind and Anemo orbs that stay in the air.

Players shouldn’t take too long riding the waves and should grab these orbs as soon as possible, or else the boss will be healed for 10-15% of his health.

You have already found out how to grab these orbs by reading the previous paragraph in this article.

Anemo Hypostasis Attack Patterns

Not all the bosses in Genshin Impact are a copy-and-paste set of attacks. They will follow a specific type of attack pattern and you’ll need to learn it.

These are the most common attacks used by Anemo Hypostasis:

Anemo Shockwave Attack

This attack is only used when the Anemo Hypostasis doesn’t have much health left. You can easily avoid this attack by jumping at the right times, but until it’s over, you should stay away.

Tornado Field AoE Attack

The Anemo Hypostasis sends out several tornadoes that move around and have a wide area of effect.

If you get caught in a tornado, just run away and wait for the Anemo Hypostasis to become vulnerable again.

Anemo Vacuum Attack

The Anemo Hypostasis will pull in nearby characters, making it hard to run away from the attack.

Keep your distance during the Anemo Vacuum, and when the Boss is weak, dash towards it and attack.

Wind Gust Attack

A vortex will show where the Anemo Hypostasis will do its Wing Gust attack, which will throw you into the air and stun you if you get hit by it.

Dash away from the attacks all the time to avoid getting hit.

Anemo Hypostasis Drops

You might want to consider Anemo Hypostasis. He is fairly easy to defeat when you find out his whole attack pattern and after a while, you can possibly kill him 3 times in an hour.

The drops are also quite good. This is what he drops most of the time:

  • Wanderer’s Troupe
  • Gladiator’s Finale
  • Instructor
  • Lucky Dog
  • Berserker
  • Hurricane Seed
  • Vayuda Turquoise Gemstone
  • Vayuda Turquoise Chunk
  • Vayuda Turquoise Fragment
  • Vayuda Turquoise Sliver

As you can see he drops very good materials that are used by certain types of characters. These are the characters that use them:

What Is The Respawn Time for Anemo Hypostasis?

Anemo Hypostasis is a boss in Genshin Impact meaning that he will be affected by the same respawn time as all the other bosses. This works same for games of this type.

Every 5 – 10 minutes you will get an Anemo Hypostasis to spawn in this location. He will literally speed up from another dimension and enter the world and server in which you are in.

Conclusion

The boss Anemo Hypostasis isn’t as scary as he looks. He has an easy-to-track kind of attack strategy and patterns which means that he is good for farming.

You will want to choose one of those recommended characters in the article above and you will really have an easy time taking him down.

I hope that this guide has served its purpose and helped you take down Anemo Hypostasis without you dying a couple of times.
