In today’s article, we’re going to go over the best classes in Back Desert Online. With 26 different classes available to choose from, the choice is difficult to make, but not impossible.
Whether you prefer wearing plate armor, swinging mighty axes, casting dark magics, striking enemies from the shadows, or unleashing a barrage of ranged attacks with bows, each class offers a distinct playstyle.
Here is a quick overview of the classes, and where they land on the tier list.

Note: This BDO Class tier list focuses on the PvE side of the game because in PvP the skills of the players can make a big difference, even if the class is not as good.
As such a PvP tier list wouldn’t really be based on the classes’ merits on their own.

Now let’s get a bit more in depth with each of the classes above and see why they’ve been picked.
Black Desert S-Tier: The Berserker Class
The Berserker class is a melee bruiser class from the “Giant” race and one of the original 4 classes.
They are a very chaotic and fun class to play with a unique play style due to their size. Berserkers can wildly stomp, grab and throw enemies with ease.
- Main Weapon: Axe
- Sub-weapon: Ornamental Knot
At level 56, Berserker unlocks their awakening weapon which is the Iron Buster allowing him to bombard enemies from a distance.
Black Desert S-Tier: The Maegu Class
The Maegu class is a ranged magic user, specializing in Do arts and trained at the Jwado school.
Her homeland is the Land of the Morning Light, which is an Asian-themed region, inspired by Korean folklore. Maegu is also the older sister and twin of the Woosa class.
- Main Weapon: Foxspirit Charm
- Sub-weapon: Binyeo Knife
At level 56, Maegu unlocks her succession skills. Succession Maegu can cast a variety of ranged attacks through spells using her foxspirit charm, or scatter the charms around her to deal melee damage.
Black Desert S-Tier: The Musa Class
The Musa class primarily focuses on using dashes to pick fights and decide when to engage.
Higher-skilled players will learn when enemies have openings in their skills and learn to react to their opponents to make use of this in a fight.
- Main Weapon: Blade
- Sub-weapon: Horn Bow
At level 56, Musa unlocks their awakening weapon which is a Crescent Blade.
Black Desert S-Tier: The Woosa Class
The Woosa class is a mid-ranged magic user, specializing in Do arts and trained at the Woodo school.
Her homeland is the Land of the Morning Light, which is an Asian-themed region, inspired by Korean folklore. Woosa is also the younger sister and twin of the Maegu class.
- Main Weapon: Swallowtail Fan
- Sub-weapon: Do Stave
At level 56, Woosa unlocks her succession skills. Succession Woosa can conjure rainclouds and use the power of the Sagoonja.
She delivers quick strikes with her folded fan, and large AOE attacks by mixing Do arts with her fan spread attack.

There are many classes you can pick in the game, and with the different slots given you can always pick and choose who you save.
You can grind your favorite, and then give a try to the classes that stand on the top of the tier list to see if one of their playstyles could possibly fit you better, as a player. Even if they don’t cover your personal needs, you can erase them and move on.
