Boxing fans looking for high-quality boxing games on Xbox had it tough over the years. There’s never been a flood of quality titles, and you’re probably wondering if there’s any good boxing game on this console.
Fortunately, there’s more than one, and that’s what we’re going to talk about today: the best Xbox boxing games you can play, no matter if we’re talking about current-gen releases or games available through backward compatibility.
I will list everything that deserves the “high quality” stamp, from classic arcade action to deep management simulation, both AAA titles and indie releases. There’s not a huge pool to choose from, but we still end up with a pretty solid list that packs a real punch. Pun intended.
1. Undisputed

Best for: Hardcore boxing fans, players craving realism, and anyone who’s missed Fight Night.
If you’ve been starving for a proper, modern boxing simulation game on consoles, Undisputed is the game that finally delivers.
While it’s long-awaited release was a bit disappointing for some fans, this ambitious title has launched on Series X|S, and honestly, it’s the best boxing game for Xbox.
The roster is also stacked with all the boxers that ever mattered (and/or still do): Muhammad Ali, Canelo Alvarez, Tyson Fury, Katie Taylor, Sugar Ray Leonard, and plenty more. Every fighter has their own feel, unique animations, and fighting styles, making every matchup fresh.
The gameplay is difficult and requires plenty of patience, but once you get the hang of it, it’s truly rewarding. The difficulty of the game is what put many more casual gamers off, but if you are a hardcore boxing fan and want a realistic experience, this is it.
Movement in Undisputed is fully analog, punches have weight, and stamina, footwork, and defense actually matter. Tough to master, as I said, but the depth is seriously rewarding in the end.
The game offers a detailed single-player career mode for those who prefer to train, manage, and build their boxer from the ground up, but also online play.
If you want to switch consoles and get nostalgic, I recommend taking a look at my article sharing the best multiplayer games on PS4.
2. EA Sports UFC

Best for: MMA fans, players who want deep striking mechanics, those who enjoy both boxing and grappling.
While not a “pure” boxing game, EA Sports UFC is the closest you’ll get to a next-gen fighting sim with real-world fighters and high-impact stand-up action. And some MMA fights thrown in for good measure never hurt anyone, right?
The game’s striking system is the best in my opinion, letting you focus almost exclusively on the fighting, using footwork, angles, combos, and devastating counters.
The career mode gives you full control over your fighter’s training, fight prep, and progression, making your experience complete.
If you want to box only, you can stick to that style, and it is well done, especially with the new physics and animation system introduced introduced by the developers. Online play is extremely active, with regular events and tournaments, so you’ll never get bored when (or if) the AI opponents become to easy.
Keep in mind: Grappling and submissions are still part of the core game, so pure boxing purists may find themselves dragged into the clinch from time to time. Still, for anyone who loves combat sports, EA’s UFC is the total package.

3. Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions

Best for: Casual players, fans of party games, Rocky/Creed fans, families
Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions is perfect for when you want to jump into the ring without a steep learning curve and just throw some punches around and have fun without worrying too much about all aspects of a boxing match.
With a roster packed with characters from the Rocky and Creed movies, this game focuses on over-the-top, arcade-style boxing. The controls are easy to pick up, and matches are short and sweet – ideal for couch play with friends or family, or for unwinding a bit after a long day at work or school.
Don’t expect deep simulation or next-gen graphics, but for fast, fun, and nostalgic matches, this is still a worthy option.
4. World Championship Boxing Manager 2

Best for: Management and sim fans.
If you’d rather be the brains behind the boxer than the one doing the actual fighting, World Championship Boxing Manager 2 brings just that to your current-gen console.
Recruit, train, promote fighters, hire staff, and manage every aspect of a boxing gym. Not as complex as I would like it to be, but at the same time, not too easy or casual either.
If you’re looking for something else than button-mashing, give this one a try if you haven’t done so already.

5. Punch Club 2: Complete Edition

Best for: Strategy and sim fans, players who enjoy quirky stories and long-term progression
If you’ve ever wanted to manage a boxer’s life behind the scenes, Punch Club 2: Complete Edition is a clever mix of management sim, RPG, and offbeat humor – a lot more lighthearted and less complex than my recommendation above.
The focus is on planning your boxer’s schedule, upgrading stats, and making choices that shape both your career and the story’s outcome. Matches are simulated based on your stats and tactics – but the entire experience is very casual and tycoony.
6. Fight Night Champion

Best for: Boxing purists, fans of authentic simulation, players who want classic single-player and couch matches
If you’re looking for a backward compatible classic game, and one that might bring back some solid nostalgia punches, the Xbox 360 original Fight Night Champion is the boxing game to play.
Even though it first launched back in 2011, I still consider it (and I’m not alone!) the benchmark for realistic boxing on consoles. And you can still play it on current-gen Xboxes today.
What makes Fight Night Champion legendary is its gameplay with deep mechanics and high realism. Just like with the more recent Undisputed, you’ll find a massive roster of real-world fighters (Ali, Tyson, Holyfield, and more), detailed punch control, stamina systems, realistic movement, and the best damage modeling in any boxing game ever.
The cinematic “Champion Mode” story campaign is still gripping, following the rise, fall, and redemption of Andre Bishop. The visuals are obviously not on par with newer games, but the animation and punch feedback remain top-notch. Local multiplayer is also available.
Speaking of classic games, make sure to check out my list of classic PC games you should still play today.
Wrapping Up
Even though not as popular as other genres out there, boxing is well-represented on Xbox and, as you can see above, there are some solid options available.
