Terra Invicta: How to Build & Launch a Hab

Terra Invicta is a game where you will be choosing one of 7 factions and then making your own plans on how to deal with the Planet Earth and all its countries.

You can also go into space by building a hab. Stay tuned to find out more about it.

When staying on Planet Earth you will face many challenges. You will need to build a relationship and actually interact with all of the countries in the modern world.

There are aliens up and about with no good intentions. Depending on what faction you are playing, you will occasionally need to look outside of Earth.

In this guide, we will talk about how to build and launch a hab that will help you do so. Let’s get started.

How to Build a Hab in Terra Invicta

First of all, to be able to build a Hab in Tera Invicta you must make sure that you have already unlocked and researched the Outpost Habs. You can find it inside the tech tree.

Also, another thing that you will need to have unlocked in the tech tree is the Settlement Habs. This is another type of hab that will let you expand far away from Earth.

Then once you have researched this, you will want to scroll out all the way out from the Planet Earth.

Then once you have done so, you will notice a Build Hab on the bottom right corner. This is the option that will let you build a Hab in Terra Invicta.

Habs are needed for expansion, which means that you will need to have resources at the ready before you start building one.

There are 2 ways how you can pay for Habs in the space:

  • First, you can use real materials that you get from moons and other planets.
  • The second thing is that you can export resources from Earth using boost. This means that in the early game, you need either raw resources or money plus a boost to build a lab.

You can change the way your habs look. This is because you can add more parts to it. In total, the developers have prepared 84 of them.

The one that gives electricity is the most important. Without it, the whole building would not work. So, you have to put it right at the beginning.

How to Launch a Hab in Terra Invicta

You will build a Hab on the planet earth. Then once you do so, all that is left for you to do is launch it into space and directly to your station.

To do so, you can zoom out from Planet Earth and choose where you have your outpost set up.

You will need to make sure that you have enough production and resources to support this. You can have those resources by merging bigger countries together.

Its production is controlled in the same red, blue, and green dot areas as Unity and Economics, but it only shows up in countries with launch facilities.

I think that Space Flight should be used in places that don’t have these facilities. I ran France and the United States for only $2.4 a month.

Launching a part of the habitat into low orbit will cost a 2.5 boost per part. It gets more and more expensive the farther away you want to go from Earth.

A single habit module on the Moon will cost you 9 boosts, and you have to “probe” a celestial body before you can build anything there.

Should You Build a Hab in Earth Orbit?

No, you definitely should not.

When you start building hab too early, you lose the boost that you could use for a moon race.

Also, later in the game, it’s easy for an enemy Councilor to flip anything in Earth orbit, so you’ll lose anything you build that close.

Conclusion

That’s everything that you need to know about building and launching a Hab in Terra Invicta!

As you might have seen in this guide, having a Hab in outer space is very worth it, but first, you must make sure that you have enough resources to keep it up.

Do not send it into the earth’s orbit because you will just lose everything that you spent on it. Other than that, you will want to focus on a Hab and do some tech research.

I hope that this guide has helped you out with how the habs work in Terra Invicta. Happy travels commander!
