Task Bar Hero: How to Beat Stage 2-8 on Every Difficulty

The first real challenge in Task Bar Hero is Stage 2-8, and it remains a massive challenge on all difficulty levels, including Nightmare and Hell.

Fortunately, beating Stage 2-8 on Nightmare, Hell (and even Normal) is easier if you know what to do, and that is exactly what I am here to tell you today: how to build your squad to easily get past this stage.

For this stage, we’re going to use the Priest – Sorcerer – Ranger formation (which is the best formation in Task Bar Hero, without a doubt).

The general rules for every difficulty level

Proof that this strategy works.

The thing that makes Stage 2-8 such a difficult one is the fact that you’re dealing with Elemental damage, mainly fire damage from the Burning Skeletons. Without the proper build and gear, it will be impossible to defeat them, even with higher level characters.

Therefore, the main thing you need is equipping some items with Fire Damage Resistance.

This alone is the most important thing you need to quickly go through this stage, and you should at least equip your tank (Priest, in this case) with at least one – but the higher the Fire Damage resistance, the better.

So if you have Red Gems for Decoration, value them, as they are much needed for future, better equipment too.

Now let’s look at the actual build for each character, created specifically for beating Stage 2-8 on Normal, Nightmare and Hell.

2-8 Optimized Priest Build

Priest Build for Stage 2-8

This is where you have to make the most changes compared to your regular Priest Build. Your character’s level is important – chances are slim you’ll beat Nightmare, for example, before reaching level 40.

With this in mind, here are the main skills you need to invest in:

Blessing of Warding: This gives your entire squad Elemental Damage. This alone can help you win, even if you don’t have items with Fire Resistance decorations.

The first time I managed to defeat Stage 2-8 on Nightmare, I had just 2 points invested in this skill and, with a bit of active playing and luck, I managed to beat the stage.

Heal is the second skill you need maxed out to keep the Priest alive. However, if you have solid items that give you plenty of life leech, use Blessing of Might instead to deal double damage and destroy those skeletons faster.

For the remaining skill points, invest in maxing out HP, Armor and Damage Absorption.

NOTE: Once you reach level 50, if you already have Elemental Resistance (either through the Blessing of Warding skill, decorated items or both), start investing in it. This is very useful, especially for beating stage 2-8 on Hell.

As for improving the items you already have equipped, apart from the Fire Resitance boost I talked about earlier, you should focus on those decorations (and engravements) that increase defensive stats like Damage Absorption, HP Regen and Block/Dodge chance, as these can all give your character a chance to avoid that Fire damage from the skeletong.

2-8 Optimized Sorcerer and Ranger

Ranger Build for Stage 2-8

I am talking about these two together, because you won’t have to change much compared to the regular builds. (Check out my full Ranger Build here).

For the Sorcerer, I saw people recommend switching to cold damage, but I haven’t seen any improvement with it. Instead, use Meteor Strike and Fireball as your damage-dealing skills, boosting your Fire Damage output and General Damage.

The Ranger is extremely straightforward, also: you need the Swift Surge and Piercing Arrow skills, then boost your character’s Attack Speed and Damage.

Wrapping Up

This might seem easier than it actually is. If you’ve struggled with stage 2-8 on Nightmare or Hell (or even on Normal), you know it’s not that easy to climb this wall. But it’s doable, and by following my recommendations above, you will do it quickly.
