Are you frustrated of trying to defeat Kallamar in Cult of the Lamb? Are you tired of dealing with the annoying tiny enemies and Kallamar’s fiery attacks?
Well, if it makes you feel any better, we all feel the same!
The third and strongest boss of all the dungeons in Cult of the Lamb, Kallamar comes after the Bishops Leshy and Heket and is the Heretic of Anchordeep.
Equipped with four arms, Kallamar has a variety of attacking threats up his sleeve, making him the most challenging enemy in the entirety of the game.
But, worry not! In this article, I’m here to show you how to beat Kallamar easily and help you out with the most efficient strategies to counter its attacks.
How to Beat Kallamar Easily?
The trick to beating Kallamar is being more strategical than being offensive.
Since his attacks deal a significant amount of damage, your first focus should be dodging Kallamar’s various attacks.
In this article, I’ll go through each of Kallamar’s attacks and provide tips on how to spot them beforehand and dodge them successfully.
The Anchordeep Monsters
You know how you face different monsters while moving through the Anchordeep dungeon? Sadly, Kallamar calls for these enemies again when you fight him!
When you see Kallamar pausing and screaming spells while black splotches form on the ground, that’s when the tiny enemies will come out of the ground.
You can eliminate these mobs the same way you did when you faced them earlier in the dungeon. If you’re able to move fast enough, you can also avoid dealing any damage from these mobs without having to fight them.
However, you should be careful while you attack them and not move too close to Kallamar.
The Dagger
The boss of Anchordeep will strike your lamb using the Dagger should you move too close to him.
The Dagger is the weapon on his lower right hand. Whenever you see the boss raising his lower right hand, with open eyes and closed mouth, that’s when you know he’s about to use the Dagger.
The only way you can avoid hits from the Dagger is by not moving too close to Kallamar or attacking him consecutively.
Like I mentioned before, defeating Kallamar involves less offense and more strategical counters.
The Orb
The Orb is by far the strongest attacking element of Kallamar. He shoot bullets, patterns and waves of fire while holding the Orb in the middle and shouting spells.
Kallamar can cast fire in the form of circles that are diverging outwards and spreading wider.
It can also shoot fire in the form of small, round bullets consecutively while it moves its body around.
To make matters even more difficult, Kallmar can shoot fire in multiple patterns when you’ve reduced his health; there’s no time to take a breather when you’re fighting him!
When you see the Orb in the middle, you should know that a fiery attack is being launched, whether it is fire pellets or waves. There’s no specific way to know what kind of attack it’s going to be.
The only counter to this agonizing attack from Kallamar is to avoid getting inflicted by the fire.
When you know he’s about to use the Orb, make sure you move and create a safe space between you and the boss. In that way, you’ll get a fraction of time to react and it’ll be easier for you to avoid the fireballs or fire waves, whatever it may be.
The Sword
The Sword is on Kallamar’s upper left hand and he uses it as a melee attack. He runs towards your lamb and once he chases you down, Kallamar swings the Sword to inflict damage.
Kallamar strikes with the sword much like ancient swordsmen, holding it above his head using the two upper arms before swinging. That’s also how you know that he’s about to unleash the Sword on you.
However, avoiding this attack is pretty straightforward.
All you need to do is let Kallamar chase you down and once you see him holding the sword above his head, spam Dodge Roll!
Attacking Tips
You can’t reduce Kallamar’s health by only countering, or more like dodging, his attacking threats. Attacking Kallamar in an efficient manner is also key.
You should never spam attacks on Kallamar. You will only end up losing your own health through the Dagger and fire.
The perfect opportunity to attack is when you catch Kallamar on a transition between his attacks. You should spam as many as five attacks at a time and then Dodge Roll to create a safe distance.
It’s also important to know that Bane Weapons aren’t useful against the Bishops. However, fleece upgrades can give you various capabilities to aid you in boss battles.
Lastly, you must also be weary of Kallamar’s positions as he can transport from one place to another to carry out his next attack.
Wrapping Up
Defeating Kallamar is an achievement on its own as he is arguably the most difficult boss to take down. It takes more effort than the Beast below the Waves quest and also more number of tries.
It’s quite satisfying to watch him groan as he goes under the ground the treasure pops out with exciting loot.
Strategies are what takes down bosses in the Cult of the Lamb more than anything else. Whether it’s Kallamar or Shamura, following a strategy is the key to success!
