Top Girl/Apex Girl Guide: Tips & Tricks to Play Better

If you want to unlock all the girls in Apex Girl (formerly Top Girl) and get the most out of the game, you’re at the right place! Today, I am sharing a full guide to the game, filled with tips and tricks that will help you understand the plethora of activities you can perform in the game, which ones are the best, and a lot more.

Please note: This guide is for the mobile game Apex Girl (initially named Top Girl) by A3Games and not the mobile RPG Apex Girls.

With these in mind, let’s jump right into the tips and tricks – there’s a lot to learn and master.

Get More & Better Girls Quickly

Let’s be honest now: the in-game girls are the reason why you started to play this game in the first place, so you should unlock them ASAP.

As a free player, this will take time – especially when it comes to the rarest ones, but even after your first 7 days in the game, you will still have plenty to choose from.

Your main goal is to unlock the rarest girls possible, as they are usually the best in terms of stats. To do so, you need to go for gacha pulls aka Interview girls, as this is the most common method of getting girls.

The odds are not really in your favor:

• 1% chance of getting a SSR girl (and just some of all the SSRs can be obtained through Interviews – they are usually rotated though, so eventually you can get them)
• 10% chance of getting a SR girl
• 89% chance for a R girl

However, every 60 pulls (aka Interviews), you are guaranteed a SSR girl. So you can get the first two after doing 120 Interviews, which might seem a lot, but is doable within your first week of playing.

I also recommend hoarding Girl Resumes (which are used to Interview girls) until you have 10, and go for the Interview x10 option. I am not entirely sure if that is indeed the case, but I always seem to get better rewards when I go this route.

You can also get girls through various events and in-game purchases, but even as a free player, you will still have enough to be happy.

Upgrade Your Girls Strategically

Now that you have a solid line-up of girls, it’s time to focus on upgrading them. Normally, you won’t be able to max out all girls, at least not without spending huge amounts of real life money.

Therefore, you should prioritize upgrading the best ones first. Increasing their level is a two-step process, with the max level being 90 at the moment of writing:

1. Upgrade them using Girls’ Experience currency
2. Promote them every 10-20 levels to increase their max level (uses Girl Promote Cards based on the rarity of the girl you want to promote)

Early on, as soon as you start playing, it will appear that you have all the Girls’ Experience in the world to upgrade everything… but that’s definitely not the case.

This is why, even early on, you should focus on leveling up the SR girls you have and ignore most of the R ones, as you won’t use them for too long. Then, as soon as you get your first SSR (usually Zendaya), start working on her, as you will also have story quests that require her to be of a specific level.

Understanding UR Girls

Ultra Rare girls are extremely powerful and special, but they are only temporary additions to your roster, since unlocking them depends on your Group’s ownership of specific landmarks in the game.

This is how getting UR girls works:

• Your group conquers a specific landmark on the Apex Girl world map and unlocks the UR girl related to it.
• For as long as your Group is the owner of that particular landmark, you will have the UR girl unlocked. As soon as your group loses the landmark, you will also lose the girl.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that these girls are paired with your top girls, and their level is based on the girl they are paired with. This is why you should focus on getting your best girls at the highest possible levels instead of keeping all of them at medium ones.

Team Rise Mechanics

The girls in the game can be part of one of the three teams currently available, although I am sure that more will appear in the future, as new girls are introduced to Apex Girl.

While you don’t have much control over the Team Rise mechanic if you don’t have the girls required for it, once you do, focus on getting as many of those boosts as possible, as they permanently increase their stats.

Focus on Completing Tours

One of the most boring mechanic in the game, in my opinion, is the Tour. You simply have to mindlessly tap the “Tour” button to progress through various cities, and to earn various rewards, mainly Girls’ XP currency.

These are an important part of the game, though, and the story itself will require you to reach certain milestones, so try to always max out the tour option.

The random events in tours – they generally don’t matter. That’s just AI gibberish that doesn’t seem to influence the game in any way, and no matter what choice you make, you will still receive 150 Diamonds.

The same goes when a random Tour Event involves a girl – you will increase the Intimacy level with her by 1,000 points no matter what. But at least they offer a bit of a distraction from the mindless tapping.

Master Recording & Releasing Singles

Opposing the boredom of Tours, we have Singles in Apex Girl, which are the part I enjoy the most. There are a few things you need to keep in mind when it comes to releasing awesome singles:

First, make sure to pick the BEST girls you have in your setup, which match the required position: Center, Dancer, and Vocalist. This will give you better scores than placing a Center in a Dancer position, for example.

Next, make sure that you pick the highest level girls with the highest intimacy (most skills unlocked and leveled up), as these skills will trigger during the recording and offer various bonuses to your song’s score.

Finally, for the back-up positions, use again the best remaining girls in your setup, ideally with an increased bonus – a percentage shown next to their avatar, varying from 30% to 180%.

Generally, choosing SSR girls is the best way to go. If you don’t have enough, fill up the lineup with SR girls. There are very few occasions in which R girls are better – that is when they are maxed out, have 3-star skills and fully match the requirements for the single.

Another thing that I recommend doing is selecting girls manually instead of letting the AI select them for you. If you follow the tips above, you will get better scores and sales this way.

Upgrade the Street & HQ Strategically

The base-building element of the game takes place on the Street option, where you level up your Headquarters, but also buy and upgrade various buildings. This is where you get money produced in idle mode, so you should max out all these buildings when you have a chance.

Focus on maxing out the buildings that are part of the story first: Coffee Shop, Car Dealership, and Hair Salon. They all produce the same amount of base money, but are boosted by the girls you assign to manage them.

Another important thing that you can do here is to upgrade your band’s vehicle using items you collect as you play, recover fans with the help of your fellow alliance members, and get access to the Blueprints Menu and your Assistant.

Join a Great Group

Being part of a strong, active group is EXTREMELY important in Apex Girl, as is the case with most games of this type. But here, your group can truly make it or break it for you.

Not only can you get access to the aforementioned Ultra Rare girls if your group is strong enough to conquer and hold onto the in-game landmarks, but you can also get all sorts of goodies, boosts, and items from there.

If you are not satisfied with the Group you’re in, leave the group to see a list of available ones and join the top ones on your server. Those are usually the ones listed on the Stock Market and which require an application to be accepted. But once you are in, you will reap on the benefits!

Make sure to teleport close to your alliance’s area after joining, to be able to quickly join rallies and enjoy your fellow alliance members’ protection if needed.

AI Explained

Plenty of features in the game are done with/by AI, from the girls themselves, to Single reviews and all sorts of dialogue. It also appears that the developers are using a rudimentary AI at the moment, as many of the conversations make no sense.

Take the screenshot from above as an example. There are some girls you can “chat” with for free, but the discussions will go round and round, with your replies always being flirty to say the least no matter which option you choose.

Also, there are no real benefits from these chats, so do yourself a favor and ignore them.

The other parts that are related to AI can’t be ignored, and fortunately some are well done (like the girls, for example). But know that almost all lines of text in the game are randomly generated, so don’t take them personally.

Do Your Daily Quests

Keep an eye on the daily quests and complete them on a daily basis. Also do as much of the group quests as possible.

Not only that you receive solid rewards for each daily quest that you complete, but completing enough will also reward you with up to three gift boxes, out of which the final one is the best in terms of rewards.

Focus On & Save Up for Events

Above, you can see the events schedule in the game. Events repeat regularly, and there will always be several active events in the game – some better, some worse.

Still, make sure to keep an eye on them and focus on getting as many tasks done as soon as they begin. You can check out the upcoming events in Apex Girl by tapping the Events button in the upper left corner and then tapping the Calendar icon in the bottom left corner of the new window.

How Intimacy Works

One of the many features of the game is called Intimacy. Each girl has a maximum Intimacy level that you can reach, and as you progress through these levels, you unlock item slots for your girls to receive (also from you): Jewelry, Cars and Property.

These items, which can be upgraded individually, give various boosts to the girls wearing them. You can always switch items between girls, but you should try to equip these to your best ones first – since those are the ones you’ll be using the most in the game anyway.

To increase your intimacy with girls, you give them gifts that you get from the various in-game shops (or purchase them), while some of the main-story girls – like Zendaya, Violet, Victoria, Evelyn and so on (the ones you can chat with on your Cellphone) will also get various intimacy boosts as you chat with them.

Take Advantage of Available Deals

A generally ignored feature is the discounts page you can find in the Mall. The icon is almost hidden in the upper right corner of the screen, next to the area showing how many diamonds you have.

From there, you can access various stores: the VIP store which offers you items at major discounts based on your VIP level, but also various other stores where you can purchase important items using diamonds or various other in-game currencies.

Make sure to keep an eye on these shops and take advantage of the discounts – some very good items (like Promote Cards or Interview Cards) make their way to the shelves constantly.

Your Vehicle & Agent Gigs

Another way to hoard resources is to take part in the various events your Agent can find on the world map. These are basically PvE events (or battles), where you spend fuel to travel with your vehicle to complete the said events for various rewards.

You can also plan ahead and search for Hotels before leaving the game for a longer period of time and let your girls collect gold while you’re away.

Important: When logging off for longer periods of time, ALWAYS go to your Group, tap the “Rally” button and enable the “Auto Rally” option. This will see you automatically join all rallies launched even when you are away, if you have available spots. If your alliance is super-active, it’s usually a good idea to leave one girl for this.

Stock Market Guide

You can buy various stocks from the Stock Exchange, sell them for profits and invest in other in-game stocks.

The interesting part here is that the Groups on the server can list themselves on the Stock Exchange, but without any real effect on the game itself.

From what I’ve seen, the price fluctuations there are completely random, so it’s just a matter of picking items you like and selling them whenever you have a profit. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be more depth to this at the moment.

But you get 2,000 coins to spend on the in-game Stock Exchange daily, so buy at least 1 stock – it will most likely become very profitable as time goes by.

Tap All the Red Dots

In the end, if you ever have any doubts in terms of what to do next in Apex Girl, look for the red dots.

These mark things where you can preform actions, collect a reward or generally actively do something. And, if you’ve been playing this game for at least a bit, you know that there are plenty of Red Dots aka things to do.

So prioritize first, doing the main things I recommended above (mainly collecting idle rewards from the street, recording and releasing singles, go touring, helping your team members and performing in Agent gigs/being active on the World map) and if you still have time and resources left afterward, click the dots for even more things to do.
