Are you looking to upgrade your crafting stations and tool benches in the game? Here’s where to find Clay in Palia to smelt Ceramics.
To get Clay, you must visit areas near the sea and look for nodes similar to copper but that are fully brown-colored.
In this guide, I will explain where to find Clay in Palia and showcases how to use Clay and what you can craft with it.
Since you’ll be near the sea, consider checking out our Palia fishing guide to catch fish and make some money while you’re there.
Where to Find Clay in Palia

To find Clay in Palia, travel to the south side of the map, towards Remembrance Beach. Move along the seaside path from east to west that crosses over the bridge and you’ll be able to spot multiple Clay nodes along the way.
The best clay farming route in Palia involves starting from the far east side of the map near Fisherman’s Lagoon by the beach and heading to Gillyfin Cove.
As you’ll be traveling along the coast, you’ll spot many Clay nodes. Each node will drop an average of 5-6 nodes of clay.
Additionally, make sure to be on the lookout for fishing hotspots as there will be plenty by the sea and they are a great way to level up your fishing skill, make some money, and get materials for cooking.
Keep in mind that Clay respawns often in Palia and you can complete this route even twice every in-game day. If the area is empty and you can’t find any Clay, another player beat you to it and you should wait a few minutes for it to respawn.
Also, you’ll get extra materials for mining Clay if you’re doing it with another player. If you see another player mining, try to work together instead of competing with them.
How to Use Clay

Clay is an essential early and mid-game material. To use Clay in Palia, players will have to Smelt it at the furnace and convert it to Ceramics. Then, Ceramics can be used to create various decorations, workbenches, and other mechanisms.
Additionally, Clay can be used in its basic form combined with one Sundrop Lily to craft Smoke Bombs, which are used to catch bugs in the early game.
Overall, Clay is an important resource and I recommend mining it early so that you’ll always have some spare when needed.
Wrapping up
In conclusion, players can get Clay in Palia by traveling along the shore of the map, especially near Fisherman’s Lagoon, Remembrance Beach, and Gillyfin Cove.
Then, Clay can be used to craft Smoke Bombs or smelt Ceramics, which is a key ingredient for crafting furniture and various tool benches later in the game.
