A new contender in the “cozy survival” genre is steering onto PlayStation 5 and PC, as Square Glade Games and Silver Lining Interactive announced Outbound for an early 2026 release.
Described as a “cozyvival” camper van adventure, the title invites players to craft, explore, and thrive off-grid, taking inspiration from hits like Stardew Valley, Valheim, and Unpacking.
Set in a near-future utopia, Outbound starts players with a barebones camper van and total freedom. The game’s open world, promising dynamic biomes and hidden secrets, can be explored solo or with up to four friends online.
Customization lies at the heart of the experience: players expand and decorate their rolling homes, harvest renewable energy, and build their dream life on wheels.
Survival and sustainability intertwine as players grow crops, forage wild foods, and cook wholesome meals, all while crafting tools and researching technology to support off-grid living.
Unlike more punishing survival titles, Outbound leans into a gentler, more optimistic tone, offering a break from high-stakes danger in favor of creativity and community.
