Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising just got a major update, with Version 2.30 rolling out across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam. Developer Arc System Works and publisher Cygames have packed this one with new content, headlined by the arrival of Meg, a new playable fighter that’s anything but ordinary.
Meg Joins the Battle

Meg, dubbed “the completely average, ordinary girl,” is now live as a DLC character priced at $7.99.
Fans of the original Granblue Fantasy mobile game will recognize her from the Auguste storyline – a seemingly normal girl turned protector of her seaside hometown after bizarre monster attacks hit its shores.
In GBVSR, she brings a mix of flair and comedic charm, with her shark-fu techniques (yes, that’s a thing!) and support from her friends Mari and Ursula. Her DLC pack includes:
- Playable character: Meg
- Premium avatar
- Character badge and weapon cutout
- Exclusive figure studio poses
- Bonus items for the original Granblue Fantasy (PlayStation only)
She’s also bundled into Character Pass 2 and Deluxe Character Pass 2, so check before you double-dip.

New Versus Ranks and System Tweaks
Fortunately, version 2.30 brings more than Meg – the competitive scene’s getting a shake-up too. Players can now climb into two new tiers: Silver Master (200–499 points) and Gold Master (500+), while Grand Master still reigns supreme for the top ten per character.
There are also balance tweaks across the roster, new profile card colors, and battle adjustments aimed at fine-tuning ranked play.
Battle Pass Round 10 & Returning Rewards
The Battle Pass Round 10 adds fresh in-game cosmetics like character art, stickers, music, trophies, and more. Premium users can grab extra goodies like the Diamond Heart costume for Charlotta and a new lobby avatar featuring Mari.
If you missed earlier cosmetics, some Premium Battle Pass Round 5 rewards are back for a limited time, including older character colors and weapon skins.

Limited-Time Sale & Merch Drop
For players still on the fence, now’s the perfect time to jump in – the Deluxe Edition of GBVSR is currently 61% off on PlayStation Store and Steam until October 22 and October 20, respectively.
And because Cygames never misses a merch opportunity, Meg-themed acrylic stands, magnets, and apparel are up for preorder until November 13, 2025 via CyStore and Amazon’s Merch on Demand, with global shipping available through Buyee.
Version 2.30 might not reinvent Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, but between a new character, rank updates, returning cosmetics, and a deep discount, it’s one of the most content-packed patches in recent months.
