Genshin Impact’s Fifth Anniversary Update Drops New Region Nod-Krai, New 5-Stars, and a Fatui Showdown

Genshin Impact’s biggest update of the year is live, and it’s bringing an entirely new region, new characters, and some long-awaited Fatui drama.

Hoyoverse pushed out Version Luna I: A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves today, officially opening Nod-Krai, the seventh major region of Teyvat. It’s dropping right on the game’s fifth anniversary, which means free pulls, login bonuses, and a fresh wave of events to go with it. I am sure you’re curious to find out everything about it, so read on!

What’s in Nod-Krai?

If you’ve cleared Liyue’s main questline, you can jump straight into the new Archon Quest set in Nod-Krai.

The snowy zone is ruled by the Fatui Harbinger known as “Marionette,” while a bigger mystery tied to the moon is slowly unraveling.

Along the way, players will meet new allies like Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions and Flins, a Lightkeeper who fights against the Wild Hunt. Familiar faces, including Columbina, who’s back in her homeland and now worshipped as the “Moon Maiden” also play a major role.

New Playable Characters

Three fresh recruits are joining the roster (check each photo’s caption to find all the details):

Lauma in Genshin Impact
Lauma – 5-star Catalyst, Dendro, introduces a new Lunar-Bloom reaction.
Aino character in Genshin Impact
Aino – 4-star Claymore, free via the Archon Quest.
Flins Character Genshin Impact
Flins – 5-star Polearm, Electro, uses Lunar-Charged attacks.

Based on their appearance alone, which is your favorite. I have to say that Lauma is my new #1! Speaking of which, here are The 15 Most Simp-Worthy Characters in Genshin Impact.

Banner rotations pair Lauma with Nahida’s rerun in the first half, followed by Flins, Aino, and Yelan in the second.

Fifth Anniversary Rewards

To celebrate five years of Genshin, Hoyoverse is giving away:

  • A free 5-star from the Standard banner (plus mats to push them to Lv. 60)
  • 1,600 Primogems
  • 10 Intertwined Fates
  • Two Nod-Krai-themed gadgets
  • Extra goodies through login events

More Than Just Combat

Version Luna I also adds new features like Meeting Points, where players can see party members living out everyday moments – think Lauma interacting with Frostmoon Scions or Flins sensing the Wild Hunt with his lantern.

These slice-of-life touches add more personality to a cast that’s already huge.
