PUBG: Battlegrounds just dropped Update 37.2, and the early impression is that it’s more than just a balancing/nerfing one.
Alongside a flashy collaboration with K-pop superstar G-DRAGON, players are getting smarter interactions, a reworked Miramar hotspot, and some fresh reasons to log in beyond the usual loot grind. Like a changed way on how firefights play out!
If you’re the visual kind, here’s a nice photo highlighting the changes and goodies brought by the 37.2 update (click to enlarge and be able to zoom in):
G-DRAGON Takes Over the Lobby
The headliner of this recent update is, without a doubt, the G-DRAGON collab. Before dropping in, squads can hop on “Emote Stages” across starting islands to flex to his tracks.
Miramar itself gets decked out with themed areas like a Truck Stop, gas stations, and even a fully recreated set from his “POWER” music video.
Think that’s enough? Nope! Planes, care packages, and even Blue Chip Towers are all dressed in G-DRAGON style. It’s like a Fortnite-style approach, but PUBG’s slower, grittier vibe keeps it from feeling out of place.
Oh, did you know that a brand new update dropped in Genshin Impact, too? Make sure to check out all the details – it’s a big one for the game’s 5th anniversary!
Minas Generales Finally Worth Landing At
If you’ve ever skipped Minas Generales because it felt like a loot maze with too many camp spots, Update 37.2 might change your mind.
The area’s been streamlined: buildings have cleaner layouts, interiors are brighter, and loot is easier to find without wandering in circles.
High-ground spots are less dominant now, so you’re not automatically screwed if you land low. It feels more like Erangel’s reworks than the overly messy old Miramar. But players will eventually decide if it’s what was needed or not. There’s one way for YOU to find out: give it a try ASAP!
New Toys to Mess With (and Die To)
There’s also a new interaction system in place. Some ideas seem nice, some strange imho:
- Movable deathboxes let you drag loot into cover or use it as bait for greedy players.
- Pull doors now open both ways, giving attackers and defenders more mind games.
- Destructible gas tanks explode into smoke cover when shot, letting you MacGyver your way out of exposed fights on Miramar and Taego.
These extra gameplay mechanics could change the tempo of fights and even their outcome, the same way vaulting or throwables once did.
Extra Stuff Worth Noting
There’s also a new Survivor Pass with cosmetic rewards, plus targeted updates to Team Deathmatch and Intense Battle Royale.
Seasonal events “Survivors Left Behind” and “Hungers Left Behind” return as well, giving vets a bit of nostalgia while grinding for fresh loot and trying out the new mechanics.

Wrapping Up
Update 37.2 is PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS trying to keep pace with games like Apex Legends and Warzone without losing its slower, tactical DNA.
Between the G-DRAGON crossover and new mechanics, it feels like a patch designed to get lapsed players to reinstall and keep remaining ones hooked some more.
If dragging a loot box behind cover doesn’t sound game-changing to you, it’s probably because it isn’t. But still worth trying! And if you’re just getting back to the game and lack inspiration for an awesome name, check out my PUBG name recommendations – there are some great ones in there!
