Rooms & Exits Chapter 1: Level 1 – Level 3 Walkthrough

Rooms & Exits is probably the best escape the room game you can play on mobile right now – and a truly difficult one, even though the early stages are relatively easy.

I am planning to write an updated walkthrough series for the game, as most online are based on older content that has changed over the years. And we’re starting with the first three levels before jumping into single-level guides for the more difficult ones (check out more levels at the bottom).

But for now, let’s begin with the first three easier starting challenges!

Rooms & Exits Warm Up Walkthrough (Chapter 1 Level 1)

This is the tutorial level. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it.

Rooms & Exits Escape Room Walkthrough (Chapter 1 Level 2)

1. Tap the books near the heater and arrange them from largest (light brown) to smallest (green): light brown, gray, red, green.

2. A drawer opens: tap it and get the handle. Select it in your inventory – use – and place it on the desk drawer with a missing handle. Get the knife.

3. Use the knife on the hanging sack and get the crumpled paper. In your inventory, dismantle it to get a puzzle piece.

4. Zoom into the puzzle board above the desk and use the puzzle piece from your inventory with the rest of the pieces there, then solve the puzzle.

Tip: Drag all the puzzle pieces outside of the board and start with the corners for a faster solution.

5. After completing the puzzle, get the neon light from the secret compartment. Tap the mirror and add the neon light on top to reveal the handprints. If you look at them, you will see that each has a particular number of fingers showing.

6. Tap the cell’s lock and use the numbers shown by the fingers (5 – 1 – 4).

7. Tap the red glowing board on the cell’s wall and drag the pieces to the sides so that each color is connecting to its corresponding color on the other side (top right piece – to the left; top left piece – to the right).

8. Get the key and use it on the door, then exit!

Rooms & Exits William’s Apartment Walkthrough (Chapter 1 Level 3)

1. Notice the cards on the wall – 7 of hearts, 2 of diamonds, 7 of clubs. Tap the big brown box on the left wall and use this as a code to open it.

2. Take the red bottle and check the note on the left (talking about William’s ransom).

3. Tap the area under the vase with yellow flowers and complete the memory game (you must match two symbols of the same type). It will show you the order in which you must use the bottles to create the cocktail (banana, strawberry, peach and mango)

4. Tap the aquarium and count the fish of each type (2-5-1-9). Go to the room on the right by tapping the exit symbol and tap the small wooden sign in the sauna – use the fish code to open it. Get an orange bottle.

5. Tap the colored area on the small pool and solve the puzzle to connect the yellow pieces. Get a grey bottle.

6. Tap the area with bottles on the left side of the room and add the bottles you have collected: the grey one in between the existing bottles, then the orange one, and the red.

7. Now, let’s make the cocktail. Tap the grey, red, orange and red bottles, then the shaker to the right. Collect the tiles.

8. Go back to the other room and add the tiles on the wall missing them. Tap the two middle ones to reveal the code: 35721.

9. Tap the phone on the table and enter the code. Tap all the hexagons until all orange pieces are connected. Finally, tap the red lock sign on the phone and the door opens – use it to exit.

This is it for now!

You have completed the first three puzzles in the game, but there’s a lot more to solve.
