But, how do you change burdens in Rogue Legacy 2? Can you change the difficulty of the thread mid-game? What are the implications when it comes to burdens in the game?

How to Change Burdens in Rogue Legacy 2?

In order to change burdens in Rogue Legacy 2, you’ll need to start the thread all over again. There’s no way to add or remove a burden mid-game.

In the Soul Shop location where Charon can be found, you’ll find the NPC, Elpis, Bearer of Hope. Interact with her to choose from the available burdens in the game.

Depending on the thread level you are in, you’ll be required to select a minimum number of burdens. However, you can select as many more than the requirement as you want. The minimum number of burdens increase as NG+ level increases.

Scroll through the list provided by Elpis and change your burdens according to your preferences. The attributes and features of the burden is shown beside the list as well.

Once you’re satisfied with the burdens, you’ll move through a portal and be brought back to the start of the thread.

The game will now be modified as per your chosen burdens. Furthermore, all progresses made for bosses will be reset to default settings.

You may notice that some burdens haven’t unlocked yet. You’ll be able to implement these rare burdens only after you’ve completed a specific number of thread levels.

There are more than twenty different Burdens in Rogue Legacy 2 that modify the game in a variety of ways, starting from speed to difficulty.

These burdens are required to achieve a lot of the achievements in the game too. Some burdens even lead to newer lores and exciting boss fights.
