Tangled Web Quest Starting Location in Hogwarts Legacy
To start the “Tangled Web” quest, players will need to progress the story up to the “Charles Rookwood’s Trial” quest, and also complete the sidequest “Absconder Encounter”.
After completing both quests, players can begin the “Tangled Web” quest from the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade. Talk to Crispin Dunne within the inn and he’ll mention an infestation in Aranshire.
For the next part, you’ll need to travel to Aranshire and prepare for combat, as there will be a lot of spiders there.
Tangled Web Quest Guide – How to Find Mary in Hogwarts Legacy
After traveling to Aranshire and defeating the spiders there, you’ll be tasked with finding Mary. Since the quest tracker won’t be of any help, you’ll have to use Revelio.
Keep an eye out for the following blue symbol, as shown in the icon below, which is Mary trapped in a spider’s web.
Move inside the house and interact with Mary to progress the quest.
How to Find the Source of the Infestation
For the next part, you’ll be tasked with finding the source of the Infestation in Aranshire. While interacting with Mary, your character will mention that the source is located in the house’s basement.
Leave the house from the front door and go around the back to find the basement entrance.
For the next part of this quest, you’ll need to explore the underground spider cave and destroy 12 egg sacs. Keep using Revelio to spot the egg sacs and be ready for combat as there are hordes of spiders there.
As long as you’re using fire spells, you should be able to deal with them easily.
Lastly, after progressing through the cave and destroying all eggs, you’ll have to defeat a miniboss, the Insatiable Spider.
You can use the Disillusionment charm to stealthily take out all the smaller spiders before the fight starts. Then, the miniboss is fairly weak and will die after two Ancient Magic Casts.
With the spiders defeated, return to Crispin Dunne to complete the quest.
