5. Louis & Chloe
For this combo, Louis serves as the armored frontline tank unit of your team. While he can endure most attacks, his only weakness as an armored unit is mages.
Therefore, Chloe’s role in this combo is to cover Louis’ weakness. As a flying unit, Chloe can easily kill mages and allow Louis to deal with everything else undisturbed.
As for classes, the best class for Louis is the Great Knight since it further increases his survivability, while the best class for Chloe is the Wyvern Knight to make it easier to position near the enemy mages.
4. Anna & Ivy
Anna and Ivy are two of the best mages in Fire Emblem Engage and pairing them together significantly increases the damage your team can deal.
Additionally, the best class for Ivy and Anna is the Sage, which gains extra damage when other tome users are nearby. As both Anna and Ivy are tome users, giving them the sage class and pairing them together will have them buff each other.
3. Alear & Jean
Alear is the main protagonist in Fire Emblem and keeping him alive is the main objective of many missions.
Due to that, Alear’s best pairing is a healer such as Jean that can help keep him alive. Keep in mind that having the best defensive build on Alear is also an important factor for this playstyle.
As for classes, the best class for Alear is the Divine Dragon which buffs his defensive stats, while the best class for Jean is the High Priest as it increases his healing capabilities.
2. Rosado & Framme
Rosado is an ideal frontline tank unit that can endure almost any attack. Especially with the right build, Rosado is a force to be reckoned with.
However, even the strongest tanks require some support. For this case, Rosado is ideally paired with a healer such as Framme to ensure his HP never goes low.
Rosado’s best class is the Wyvern Knight, which is also his starting class and allows him to combine defensive stats and mobility. Framme makes for a great High Priest or Griffin Knight if you want her to be a flying healer.
1. Alcryst & Goldmary
Alcryst is a great ranged DPS unit that combines great mobility with high damage. His only setback is his low survivability. That’s where Goldmary comes in.
For this combo, Alcryst will utilize his personal skill ‘Get Behind Me!’, which grants him Strength +3 for one turn when an ally within two spaces is attacked.
Goldmary will tank in the frontline and constantly buff Alcryst through the ‘Get Behind Me!’ skill.
Goldmary’s best class is the Great Knight, which combines offensive and defensive stats, while Alcryst should opt for the Tireur d’ elite class, which buffs his overall damage.
