The Fisherman is one of the six new characters introduced in the 1.0 update in Brotato.
This character shines due to being able to utilize Baits from the shop and significantly increase the Harvesting skill. With proper dodging and spacing, the Fisherman is a great option for clearing D5.
In this guide, I will showcase the best Fisherman build for Difficulty 5 in Brotato focusing on the best weapon and upgrades for this character.

Players can unlock the Fisherman in Brotato by earing two Baits in a single run.
Best Weapon for Fisherman in Brotato

The Fisherman is a versatile class and can work with various weapons such as Sticks, Spears, Slingshots, and even Shields.
What worked for me as the best weapon for the Fisherman character in Brotato was the Shotgun. Aim for six Shotguns and, with the right upgrades, you’ll be able to clear even D5.
During the early waves, try and kill as many enemies as possible with it while also being able to chop down trees.
Best Upgrades for Fisherman in Brotato
In terms of the best upgrades for the Fisherman character in Brotato, prioritize Ranged Damage and Movement Speed.
Aim for 6-9% movement speed to dodge most attacks comfortably and always take Ranged Damage upgrades.
Additionally, buy baits every other round from the shop but do not buy during boss rounds. During later stages of the game (after round 7), start buying bait more often, even up to 2-3 baits per round.
For late-game upgrades, focus on some life steal, bounce, extra piercing, and extra Crit Damage on bosses. Don’t forget to buy Pumpkins if given the chance as the Piercing Damage increase can be very helpful.
Other than the Crit Damage on bosses, you should avoid any Crit stats as you have enough damage to one-shot most enemies.
Best Build for Fisherman in Brotato

The best build for the Fisherman involves buying six Shotguns, stacking ranged damage, and mastering dodging.
Prioritize buying baits whenever possible and you’ll be able to clear D5 runs without any issues.
Wrapping up
To sum up, this is the best build for the Fisherman character in Brotato.
With Shotguns, ranged damage, and enough Baits, you’ll be able to clear even the hardest difficulty in the game without much trouble.
