PlateUp Tips & Tricks for Beginners – Learn How to Play Better

PlateUp is a game that puts your multitasking skills to the test. Players will have to balance cooking, serving, cleaning, and micro-managing everything in and around the kitchen.

While all these may sound challenging, proper preparation is the key to success. With the right tips and tricks, everything will appear significantly easier.

In this guide, I’ll go through some of the best tips and tricks for beginners in PlateUp that will significantly improve your chances of making a franchise.

1. Get a Research Table Immediately

Getting a Research Desk in PlateUp.

The research table should be your first buy. It sets the foundations for getting some essential upgrades later on, like the sink, mixer, and smart grabber upgrades.

2. Get a Dishwasher if you can

The dishwasher is a lifesaver in PlateUp. You won’t have to do the dishes anymore and you’ll start getting some automation around the kitchen.

In addition, pairing the dishwasher with a smart grabber and connecting that to a plate rack is probably your best option. This way, the dirty dishes will get washed on their own and then transferred to the dish rack for you to use them again.

3. Prepare Meals Beforehand

You don’t have to take a customer’s order immediately when they sit at the table.

Especially if you’re only making one dish, you know what they are going to ask for before taking their order.

Prepare as many dishes as you can, and then start taking orders to ensure you’re always ahead of your customers.

4. Prepare for Decoration Days

Buying a 1-point decoration in PlateUp.

While most of the time you’ll be buying kitchen upgrades, every 5 days you get the chance to buy decorations.

After setting a theme for your restaurant (e.g. formal, charming, etc.), you will be able to buy specific decorations that award unique buffs.

Try and save money for decoration days to get the buff as high as possible (level 3 is the max, requires 9 stars total).

5. Invite Friends

In a game that challenges your multitasking skills, spreading tasks between players will make everything easier.

For instance, you can have one player focused solely on cooking in the kitchen, and the other player serving and bringing the dirty dishes.

If you get the chance, maybe the second player could also serve coffee or ice cream.

6. Place Tables near the Kitchen (If Playing Solo)

Placing tables so they can be reached from the kitchen.

For those choosing to play solo, there’s a workaround to make your life easier. You can place tables close to the kitchen, so you can serve customers without leaving your cooking station.

This only works with a few tables (2-3), so you’ll have to be quick in serving them.

7. Serve Plates Before Taking Orders

You can place food on the customers’ tables before taking their orders. Then, when you take their order, it will immediately get completed.

This is especially helpful for tables with 2+ customers. You place 1 dish there, bring the second, and then take the order.

8. Pick Up Dirty Plates and Put Them Down Again

Customers waiting for their order in PlateUp.

This is only useful if you’ve got customers waiting outside and there’s an empty table with dirty dishes on top. As long as there’s a dirty dish there, customers won’t walk in.

However, if you pick up the dish and put it down again, customers will get tricked into coming in. This will earn you a few extra seconds to serve existing customers and hopefully complete the day.

9. Use the Phone Whenever Possible

There will be some slower days, where you’ll have more meals prepared than customers in your restaurant.

In these times, don’t hesitate to use the phone to bring new customers. It allows you to make some extra money, which will be essential for future upgrades.

10. Keep your Restaurant Simple

While it can be tempting to add multiple variations to your recipes (carrot soup starter, extra potatoes, siders, etc.), try to avoid it when possible.

If you overdo it, you’ll need some amazing multitasking skills to manage and it’s usually not worth the risk.

Summary

And that’s all. Hopefully, all these tips will help you succeed in your journey as a chef and allow you to make your restaurant a franchise.
