As you’re progressing the main questline in Palia, you’ll come across the Open the Door quest. To help you complete this quest, we’ll go through the first, second, and third riddles given by Jina.
Overall, this task has three different riddles of scaling difficulty and players have been having trouble solving all of them.
In this Palia Open the Door quest guide, I will explain how to solve the first, second, and third riddles given by Jina to help you progress the main storyline.

Palia Open the Door Quest Guide
To start the “Open the Door” quest in Palia, complete the “Ancient Battery” quest first and then start mining random nodes around the map until you find the Broken Key Fragment. Give it to Jina and wait a few days for the quest to start.
In this quest, you’ll have to solve three riddles of scaling difficulty. Let’s go through each riddle in turn.
Open the Door – First Riddle
The first riddle is given right after talking to Jina for the first time and is the following:
- There is a house. One enters it knowing all and leaves knowing nothing.
The correct answer for the first riddle is option number two: a school. After giving the answer to Jina, wait for one in-game day and you’ll be able to move on to the second riddle.
Open the Door – Second Riddle
The second riddle will be given to you as an email from Jina. After speaking with her, this is the next riddle:
- The key you hold shows a thirst for knowledge, but the next clue for entering these hallowed doors requires a thirst for something more.
The answer to the second riddle is number two again and will require you to visit the central statue in the middle of the town.
Get close to the stone statue and try to read the small stone triangles. One of them will have an inscription, which will be the third riddle.
Open the Door – Third Riddle
For the third riddle, players will need to solve the puzzle in the stone inscription of the statue. Here is the third riddle:
- In figuring out the clue rests in this fountain, you deserve much congratulations. But gaining entrance to the library requires passing but one final test. You must find a stone that represents the sands of time. Slip that gem into the hilt of your key, and you shall have your revelry.
To solve the third riddle and find the stone that represents the sands of time in Palia, you will need to find and use a Pearl.
To find a Pearl, travel to Bahari Bay and look for Unopened Oysters. There is a chance to get a Pearl when you open one but it’s not guaranteed. You may need to open more than a few of them if you’re unlucky.
With the quest completed, you’ll be able to access the ruins in the top left corner of the map.
Wrapping up
To sum up, players can complete the “Open the Door” quest in Palia by solving three riddles.
The answer to the first riddle is the school, the answer to the second riddle is the central statue of the town, and the answer to the third riddle is the Pearl.
