What is the JP Augmentor and How to Use It
The JP Augmentor is an accessory in Octopath Traveler 2. Similar to bracelets, it can be equipped in one of the two slots each character has.
Its purpose is to increase gained JP after each battle for the equipped character to help them unlock their job skills faster.
Thus, it’s ideal to use when trying to get job skills on a newly-unlocked character, or when trying to give an edge to your main DPS by unlocking their Divine Skill faster.
As you can’t change the difficulty settings in the game, unlocking more job skills is a great way to get stronger and the JP Augmentor will help you achieve it faster.
Let’s examine how to get it.
How to Get the JP Augmentor in Octopath Traveler 2
To get the JP Augmentor, you’ll have to travel to the Cavern of the Waves and explore the cave.
While the Cavern of the Waves is filled with Lv. 48 monsters, you can reduce your chances of fighting with Osvald’s skill Evasive Maneuvers, which reduces the rate of random encounters.
Additionally, you can use Temenos’ skill Evil Ward, which increases your chances of fleeing from fights.
Unless you’re Lv. 48 or more, I highly recommend using both skills to avoid combat completely.
Here’s what you’ll need to do to get the JP Augmentor in Octopath Traveler 2:
- Travel to Beasting Bay: Anchorage in Toto’haha.
- From the fast travel point, head right and follow the coastline. It will go right, and then up.
- At the end of the coastline, you’ll see a small dock where you can use your boat.
- Get on your boat and head straight left.
- After a few seconds, you’ll come across a small island with a dock and a cave on the top side.
- This is the Cavern of the Waves and you’ll need to go inside and head to the save point. Make sure to save here. If you end up dying, restart the game and try again from here.
- From the save point head left, then up, and then right. You’ll find a golden chest with the JP Augmentor inside.

I highly recommend picking up this item as early as possible and equipping it to any under-leveled character. For the ultimate combo, pair this with the EXP Augmentor, and the weaker character will catch up to the others in no time.
