Farming is one of the truly passive skills in Melvor Idle, but in order to do that, you need to get more seeds. And this is not an easy job. But today, you’ll learn the best methods to get more seeds in the game.
The easiest way to get seeds in Melvor Idle is to perform the Woodcutting activity. For every chopped tree, there is a chance for you to receive a bird’s nest, which will reward you with random seeds.
However, “easiest” does not mean “best” way. You do have to be a bit more advanced in the game, but you should already be at an advantage if you read my previously published Melvor Idle tips and tricks.
Now, let’s see how to get more seeds in Melvor Idle to optimize farming!
1. Perform the woodcutting activity

As mentioned above, this is the easiest way to get some seeds early on. Click the “Woodcutting” activity in the left sidebar in the game and start cutting wood.
For every tree you cut, there is a chance to also get a bird’s nest. These will contain random seeds, so you don’t have a lot of control and overall, you won’t get tons of seeds this way.
You can increase the chances of getting bird’s nests while woodcutting by unlocking various in-game bonuses, but the truth is that this won’t be your main method of getting more seeds.
2. Fight farmers
This is the best way to get seeds quickly in Melvor Idle. Simply fight the farmers in the Farmlands region and you will get tons of in-game seeds to keep those crops growing forever.
The best one to fight against is the Master Farmer, but you need to be combat level 47 to stand a chance against him (so it’s more of a mid-game thing).
But early on, you can still take on the Junior farmer which has some pretty decent drops and it’s easy to defeat. The Adult farmer comes in next, with even better drops.
There are other places where you can get seeds from, but the farmers are by far the best.
3. Crop mastery gives you seeds
As you keep planting and harvesting the same type of crop, your crop mastery increases.
Once you reach a high enough mastery level (11 right now), there will be a chance of seeds for that particular crop to drop when you harvest.
NOTE: Whenever planting seeds, make sure to always use compost or, ideally Weird Gloop, to make sure that your seeds germinate.
Conclusion
From woodcutting to fighting farmers, you know now which are your options to getting more seeds in Melvor Idle.
You should always keep those farms running in order to get plenty of food for your adventures. And now you know the easiest ways to do it.
