How to Build Your Perfect Fallout 4 Character (Fallout 4 Character Build Guide)

Building a perfect character in Fallout 4 is a matter of personal preference, generally and different approaches will require different character builds.

However, for those who are not very familiar with the game or those who don’t want to go completely specialized for increased difficulty / challenges or whatever, I have what I believe to be a perfect Fallout 4 character build in terms of SPECIAL stats and I am here to share it with you.

So check it out – it might just become the character build you’ll use as well!

Before sharing with you the actual screenshot of my character’s build, let me remind you that the numbers allocated into each skill will have a direct effect on the Perks you can learn.

In other words, if you want the Mysterious Stranger perk no matter what, you need a luck of at least 4.

Same goes for all the other Perks – so it’s not just the effects that you have to consider when choosing your SPECIAL numbers, but also the perks!

These being said, here is my recommended Fallout 4 Character build:

Why going for stats in all areas and not max out anything? Because, first of all, you need a bit of everything. And second, because you need to unlock specific perks and have high enough stats for the other gameplay elements.

You will also gain, most likely, extra SPECIAL points to spend during your adventure and the first one will have to be invested in Strength to unlock weapon modding as well.

Based on gameplay in Fallout 3 (and I doubt things have changed that much), two stats are extremely important: Charisma and Intelligence.

They allow you to hack into all sort of restricted areas, and unlock new dialog options or just be more persuasive when it comes to talking with different characters in the game.

Perception is always good because it affects your Lockpicking skills (and you’ll have to do a lot of those as well), while the others are pretty even and nicely spread to give you extra boosts that help you throughout the game.

And here are the Perks you should focus on, in my opinion. I am still not 100% sure about these, as we don’t know exactly how some work and what bonuses they give, but I still believe that it’s a good build:

What can you change? Depending on your play style and how good they are in the game, you could actually switch some SPECIAL stats from Charisma and put them straight into Strength or Perception/Agility and change the focus from Local Leader to Life Giver.

Also, if you don’t plan to use the companions (I don’t see why you’d do that, though), you should definitely get the Lone Wandered perk, which is pretty insane!

So there you have it – my recommended character build for Fallout 4. Do you agree with it or you’d build your character differently? Let’s talk about this in the comment section below!
