Disney Dreamlight Valley released its first major content update and added Scar as a new character. Also, there’s a new quest focused on Scar’s story that allows players to progress through the story in the Sunlit Plateau biome.
Part of the new ‘Nature and Nurture’ quest requires players to craft the Miracle Growth Elixir, which requires rich soil and vitalys crystals, two completely new items.

In this guide, I will explain how to get rich soil and vitalys crystal in Disney Dreamlight Valley and craft the Miracle Growth Elixir to progress Scar’s questline.
How to Make Miracle Growth Elixir
The Miracle Growth Elixir required by Scar utilizes some of the new items in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Specifically, it requires the following items:
- 10 Rich Soil
- 10 Vitalys Crystals
- 1.000 Dreamlight
Let’s examine how to get each of these items in turn.
How to Get Rich Soil
Rich soil, contrary to normal soil, can’t be gained by digging. Instead, players can get rich soil only by harvesting crops.
When harvesting any crop, there is a significantly low chance of also dropping rich soil alongside the crop. For me, it took around 150 crops until I got the 10 rich soil needed.
Therefore, to get rich soil in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players should harvest as many crops as possible. The type of crop is irrelevant.
Since the type of crop doesn’t matter, I highly recommend planting wheat seeds since they take only 1 minute to grow. While it may take a lot of planting and harvesting, you’ll have the 10 rich soil required within a few minutes.
Of course, if you’re not in a rush, you can also try farming pumpkins, one of the most profitable crops in the game. This way, you’ll gain your rich soil while also making some solid money.
How to Get Vitalys Crystals
Part of the new update is the Vitalys Mine location. It can be accessed from the top side of the river in Sunlit Plateau and is a fairly large area.
Within the mine, players will find black and blue-colored rocks near the edges of the cavern that can be mined. These, similar to the black-colored rocks around the Valley, drop iron and gold ore as well as stone.
However, stones within the mines also have a chance to drop vitalys crystals. Thus, to get the 10 vitalys crystals required to craft the Miracle Growth Elixir, players have to keep mining these rocks within the mine.
Thankfully there are a lot of them within the mine and they have an extremely short respawn time. Collecting the 10 vitalys crystals shouldn’t take more than a few minutes.
How to Get Dreamlight
Dreamlight is the only known item in the crafting list. Players should have some stockpiled over the last few days. In case you don’t have enough, consider checking our guide on how to find dream shards, which can be turned into dreamlight.
Otherwise, another great option is completing daily tasks, since they award a decent amount of dreamlight. And 1.000 dreamlight can be gathered easily, only from daily tasks.

To sum up, to craft the Miracle Growth Elixir, players will need to get rich soil, vitalys crystals, and dreamlight.
Rich soil is gained as an extra resource while harvesting any crop while vitalys crystals can be mined within the new Vitalys Mine location.
As for dreamlight, there are many ways to gather it, including daily tasks, dream shards, and completing quests.
