For purple dye, the following ingredients are required:

  • 2 X Charcoal
  • 9 X Tintoberry
  • 9 X Azulberry
  • Water (if you’re using a cooking pot)

How to find all the ingredients needed for Purple Dye

Knowing the ingredients needed is just half the battle won. Gathering them is the next important part – after all, there are some huge maps in Ark: Survival Evolved.

So read on to learn where you can farm these required items for purple dye.

How to Farm Azulberry?

Azulberry comes with a blue color and has seed-like bumps on its body. Azulberry is usually found in places with a high density of bushes and plants.

You’d need to harvest through these bushes to collect the Azulberries and add them to your inventory. You can collect a large number of these berries quickly if you have tames too, such as Brontosaurus.

Furthermore, Azulberry can also be grown by planting Azulberry seeds.

How to Farm Tintoberry?

Tintoberry is red in color and look like cherries. These are mainly found in open grasslands.

You can easily collect Tintoberries by exploring and gathering plants from these areas. Similar to Azulberries, you can employ your tames to get a larger number of berries in a shorter time.

It’s also possible to grow Tintoberries on your own using Tintoberry seeds along with fertilizer and water.

How to Create Charcoal

There are several places where you can collect Charcoal from, the most common one being from burning wood in a Campfire or Cooking Pot. Once the wood is burns for additional time, it turns into Charcoal in the Cooking Pot.

Furthermore, Charcoal can also be collected from the burnt trees in Scorched Island and Lava Island.

Cooking Pot / Industrial Cooker

Both the Cooking Pot and the Industrial Cooker can be used to manufacture purple dye.

You can easily craft the Cooking Pot in your inventory once you’ve reached Level 8, at the expense of 78 Crafting XP.

On the other hand, the more efficient Industrial Cooker can be crafted when you’ve crossed Level 88 by using 2800 Crafting XP. Unlike the Cooking Pot, it can only be crafted in a Tek Replicator or Fabricator.

The advantage of cooking in an Industrial Cooker is that you won’t be required to add water externally since it’s constantly irrigated by itself

In the case of Cooking Pot, the water needs to be added along with the other ingredients, in the form of a Water Jar (which should be at least 25% full) or Waterskin.
