Gran Turismo, Watch Your Mirrors! New Game Provides Excellent Alternative on PC

JDM: Japanese Drift Master, the simcade racer that promises to scratch every car enthusiast’s itch, is shifting into high gear on March 26, 2025. Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store will all share the starting grid, so pick your storefront and get ready to burn some rubber.

In this game, players follow Touma, a Polish driver hoping to rise through the ranks of local street racing. Fierce rivals, unexpected alliances, and even romance all come together in a narrative told through in-game events and a beautifully drawn manga.

Each event unlocks new comic pages, building tension and setting the stage for the next big showdown. Here’s a trailer if you want to find out more about this promising new game:

It looks absolutely amazing, right?

The game takes place in the fictional Guntama prefecture, which includes a massive 250 km network of roads.

You’ll spot famous landmarks like a re-creation of Himeji Castle and an homage to the legendary Daikoku parking area – perfect for those middle-of-the-night drift meetups.

Somebody call the folks from Need for Speed; they might want to take notes!

The game includes officially licensed models from Nissan, Mazda, and Subaru, with more announcements on the horizon. Every vehicle can be upgraded both under the hood and on the surface. And they all look impressive as you can see from these gameplay screenshots below (click to enlarge):

Whether you’re fine-tuning your ECU or slapping on a flashy bōsōzoku exhaust, there’s always a way to stand out. If your style leans more toward the Gran Turismo side of realism or you prefer something more arcade-like, you can dial in each car to be a grip-focused machine, a drift specialist, or a balanced mix of both.

Each car has a distinct feel, from weighty corners to the sudden rush of speed when you punch the throttle. Wheel users can look forward to presets for many popular setups right from launch.

I’m excited – definitely a game to keep an eye out for! Until it launches, you can try something different: check out my list of classic PC games on a budget or the Best Police & Detective Video Games Ever Made
