How to Unlock Pets in Palia
There are four variations of the Palcat pet in Palia and players can unlock them all by adding money to the game.
Specifically, the first time they buy Palia Coins will automatically reward them with one Palcat. This includes any Palia Coins purchase, even the $4.99 one.
Then, once they add a total of 3,000 or more Palia Coins, they will get the other three. This can be done in one go by buying the $35 bundle or by combining multiple purchases over the course of days or weeks.
The cheapest way possible to unlock all pets is by buying the $19,99 bundle and then the $9.99 bundle. While you’ll get fewer coins compared to the $35,99 bundle, it’s the cheapest.
Then, you’re free to spend the coins in any way you want, including various cosmetic outfits from the Tailor shop. After all, the devs added some new outfits alongside the pet update and more will be added soon.
Once you’ve spent $30 on Palia Coins in total, you’ll get the other three pets. The first pet you’ll unlock is the Sandy Palcat, while the other three (Snowy, Nocturnal, Island Palcat) will be unlocked after adding 3,000 Palia Coins.
Unfortunately, there is no free-to-play way to unlock pets so far. However, you can expect more pets to be added to the game soon that aren’t just cats.
Hopefully, unlike unlocking new clothing cosmetics in Palia, you’ll be able to get pets without adding money through achievements or tricky quests. After all, this will feel more rewarding than simply buying them.

How to Equip and Use Pets
To equip your newly-acquired pet in Palia, open your character menu (hotkey: C) and select the paw icon next to your glider.
From there, you’ll see all your currently unlocked pets. Select the one you want and it will be equipped.
After that, the pet you chose will be following you around. However, pets are only cosmetics and they have no practical usage. They are good for screenshots and for showcasing them to other players.
Especially as more pets get introduced to the game, the variety will allow for amazing screenshots.
