So, how do you make a Potion of Harming in Minecraft?
How to Make a Potion of Harming in Minecraft?
Before you can start crafting Potion of Harming, you’ll need to collect its two ingredients and other required items. Let’s see how we can obtain these.
Potion of Harming Ingredients
Fermented Spider Eye
Fermented Spider Eye needs to be crafted in Minecraft. You’ll need a Spider Eye, a Brown Mushroom and Sugar to make Fermented Spider Eye.
Collect two Spider Eyes while you’re at it, since you’ll be needing Spider Eye to make the next ingredient as well.
How to craft Fermented Spider Eye in Minecraft?
You’ll need to open a 3X3 crafting table to start making Fermented Spider Eye. These type of crafting tables are extremely useful in various tasks, such as dying wool or crafting pickaxe.
Put the Spider Eye in the first box (leftmost) of the first row, and then follow it up with the Brown Mushroom and lastly, put the Sugar in the last box of the row. The remaining boxes below will remain empty.
Make sure this pattern is followed correctly and you’ll notice the Fermented Spider Eye crafted in no time! Make sure you drag the item into your inventory.
Potion of Poison (0:45)
The Potion of Poison (0:45) is the other ingredient needed to make Potion of Harming.
But, this potion needs to be crafted itself at first. In order to craft the Potion of Poison, you’ll need to have a Spider Eye, a Nether Wart, and a Water Bottle. Along with these, a Brewing Stand and Blaze Powder is necessary too.
How to make a Potion of Poison (0:45) in Minecraft?
Prepare the Brewing Stand for cooking by adding Blaze Powder in the leftmost box.
Place the Water Bottle in any of the three boxes that have an outline of a bottle drawn in them.
Now, place the Nether Wart in the box at the top and you’ll notice the transparent bubbles and the arrow filling up.
When the Nether Wart disappears, take the Spider Eye and place it in the same box. Again, the bubbles and arrow will fill up, denoting that cooking is in progress.
Wait till the Spider Eye disappears too and that will be the end of the cooking process. The item present in the water bottle now is the Potion of Poison (0:45). Move the item to your inventory.
Now that you have both the Fermented Spider Eye and Potion of Poison (0:45) in your inventory, make sure you also have a Brewing Stand and Blaze Powder for use.
Potion of Harming Recipe
First and foremost, open and activate your brewing stand by adding Blaze Powder in the leftmost box.
After that, drag your Potion of Poison bottle and put it in one of the three boxes that are adjacent to each other and have bottles drawn inside them. This is where the potion is made.
You’ll also have to take the Fermented Spider Eye and drop it in the top-most box, above the three boxes.
The bubbles will turn white as a sign of on-going crafting process. The arrow on the right also shows the progress.
You should hear a “glug” sound when brewing is completely finished and the Fermented Spider Eye will disappear from the top-most box as well.
The remaining bottle in the brewing stand is your Potion of Harming. Add it to your inventory and use it wisely to inflict 6 points of damage.
You can then use this Potion of Harming to further craft Arrow of Harming, Lingering Potion of Harming, and Splash Potion of Harming.
Wrapping Up
Crafting the Potion of Harming is simply carrying out a brewing process and isn’t much of a trouble, unlike repairing your trident or breeding tropical fish.
The problem arises when you need to collect and craft the ingredients needed for this potion.
Other than that, it’s a very straightforward process. Nevertheless, if you’re facing any sort of issues trying to craft this potion, do leave a comment below!
