Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty isn’t well optimized for PC and many players have been facing lag and stuttering issues.
Thankfully, by altering some settings both on Windows and in-game players can increase their FPS and make the game more stable overall.
In this Wo Long Fallen Dynasty guide, I will list the best settings to help you limit lag and stuttering while also increasing the FPS you get.
Best Windows Optimization Settings
For this first option, open your Windows search bar and search for ‘Game Mode settings’. Then, turn Game Mode on.
While this doesn’t work on all games, it seems to improve overall performance with Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and it’s fairly easy to do.
Also, if you have an Nvidia card series 1000 or higher, you can search ‘Graphics Settings’ and enable Hardware Acccelatered GPU scheduling. This boosts FPS slightly by reducing CPU utilization and sending commands directly to the GPU when using multiple apps.
Best GPU Settings for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
In terms of graphics card settings, first of all, make sure to keep your drivers updated. Simply access your GPU’s software and check for available updates there.
Then, for Nvidia cards, access Nvidia Control Panel and make sure you have Low Latency Mode set to on.
Best In-Game Settings for Limiting Lag and Stuttering in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
From the main menu, navigate to the settings option and then go to the Graphics Settings tab.
From the first page, focus on these three settings only.
Maximum FPS | 60 or 120, based on your monitor’s refresh rate. |
Display Mode | Full Screen |
Screen Resolution | Native (1920×1080 or 2560×1440, based on your monitor) |
From the second page, select the following settings:
Vsync | Disabled |
Rendering Resolution | 100% |
Textures Quality | Standard (Go higher if you have 6GB of VRAM) |
Shadow Quality | Low |
Shadow Render Distance | Close |
Ambient Occlusion | Disabled (Enable it if you can afford a small FPS loss) |
From the third page, select the following settings:
Screen Space Reflection | Enabled |
Subsurface Scattering | Enabled |
Model LOD | Standard |
Volumetric Fog Resolution | Low (go Standard if you can afford a small FPS loss) |
Volumetric Cloud Quality | Low (go Standard if you can afford a small FPS loss) |
From the fourth and final page, select the following settings:
Motion Blur | Disabled |
Chromatic Aberration | Enabled |
Film Grain | Disabled |
Depth of Field | Disabled |
Lens Flare | Enabled |
And that’s all. With these settings, you should have minimal stuttering and FPS drops. Of course, this largely depends on your hardware.
Wrapping up
To summarize this Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty guide, these are the best settings for limiting lag and stuttering while also boosting your FPS.
Keep in mind that the game is poorly optimized for PC so there’s a chance that you’ll still have some slight performance issues. However, they will be significantly reduced with these settings, while we’re waiting for an optimization patch.
