With four different houses to choose from, players (with the help of the Sorting Hat) have been split among Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.
However, out of all the houses, it seems that one of them has received the most students overall and that is Slytherin.
In this guide, I will showcase which is the most popular house in Hogwarts Legacy based on the achievements of the game for each platform.

Most Popular House in Hogwarts Legacy – Steam
According to the Steam global achievements for Hogwarts Legacy, here is the percentage of players on each of the four houses on Steam, starting from the least popular one:
- Hufflepuff – 11% (The Auror’s Apprentice achievement)
- Gryffindor – 18.5% (Gryffindor in the Graveyard achievement)
- Ravenclaw – 20% (The Wise Owl achievement)
- Slytherin – 24.8% (Toast of Town achievement)
We can see that Slytherin is the most popular house for Steam players in Hogwarts Legacy, followed by Ravenclaw, then Gryffindor, while Hufflepuff is the least preferred option.
These metrics are based on certain Steam achievements that require reaching the Map Chamber location as a student of a specific house.
This is why the numbers don’t add up to 100%. Some players bought the game, chose a house, and haven’t reached the Map Chamber yet (even though players can reach the Map Chamber within the first few hours of gameplay).
Most Popular House in Hogwarts Legacy – Xbox
For Xbox players, the metrics are similar with one main difference: the roles of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw are reversed. Specifically, here is the percentage of players on each of the four houses on Xbox, starting from the least popular one:
- Hufflepuff – 16.3% (The Auror’s Apprentice achievement)
- Ravenclaw – 22.5% (The Wise Owl achievement)
- Gryffindor – 31.2% (Gryffindor in the Graveyard achievement)
- Slytherin – 33.8% (Toast of Town achievement)
It seems that for Xbox players, the choice is primarily split between Gryffindor and Slytherin, with Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw staying far behind.
Most Popular House in Hogwarts Legacy – PlayStation
On PlayStation, the metrics have the same order as on Xbox, with the only difference being that they are smaller in numbers. It seems that fewer players have reached the Map Chamber on PlayStation.
Specifically, here is the percentage of players on each of the four houses on PlayStation, starting from the least popular one:
- Hufflepuff – 8.5% (The Auror’s Apprentice achievement)
- Ravenclaw – 15.2% (The Wise Owl achievement)
- Gryffindor – 19.5% (Gryffindor in the Graveyard achievement)
- Slytherin – 22% (Toast of Town achievement)
Again, Slytherin holds the lead with Gryffindor being a close second.

To summarize, the most popular house in Hogwarts Legacy on all platforms is Slytherin. As for the second most popular house, it’s Ravenclaw on Steam, and Gryffindor on Xbox and PlayStation.
On all platforms, the least popular house is Hufflepuff.
However, don’t feel demotivated fellow Hufflepuff players. After all, you’re the only ones that can visit one of the most iconic locations in the game: the Prison of Azkaban.
