Early in Hogwarts Legacy, players are called to choose one of the four houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. Based on that, they will get access to that house’s common rooms.
However, this also means they won’t be able to access the other three common rooms. Thus, the common room of each house is an important factor to consider while trying to decide which house to choose.
Another important factor is house-exclusive quests. Specifically, there are a few quests in this game that players can miss based on their housing.
In this article, I will showcase all four common rooms in Hogwarts Legacy and explain which is the best one.
All Common Rooms in Hogwarts Legacy
There are four houses in Hogwarts Legacy and each of them has its exclusive common room. Let’s examine each house in turn.
Gryffindor Common Room

The Gryffindor common room in Hogwarts Legacy strongly resembles the description from the movies and books. Filled with autumn colors, a medieval castle vibe, and a grand fireplace in the middle, this is one of the coziest common rooms in the game.
To enter this common room, players should go up the stairs in the Faculty Tower and locate the portrait of the Fat Lady.
Hufflepuff Common Room

Hufflepuff features one of the most unique common rooms in the game. It’s strongly connected to nature, with plants hanging from the ceiling and flower pots spread all around the room.
With its circular doors, some players even argue that it strongly resembles the Shire location from The Lord of the Rings.
To access the Hufflepuff common room, players need to locate the hidden kitchens near the grand staircase and enter the last giant barrel there.
Ravenclaw Common Room

Symbolized by the eagle, the Ravenclaw common room is in a high tower and features large, open rooms filled with light. With a modern architectural style and various libraries all around, this is the perfect common room for scholars.
Additionally, the carpet on the floor is filled with astronomy symbols since the Ravenclaw tower is an ideal location for stargazing during clear nights.
To find the Ravenclaw common room, players should climb the grand staircase, head west, and keep climbing until they find the common room’s door blocked by an eagle.
Slytherin Common Room

Last but not least, the Slytherin common room is characterized by its overall dark vibe. It features the most impressive entrance of all rooms with a snake emerging from the ground and forming the door.
The room is located at the lower levels of Hogwarts and players can see the Dark Lake from its windows. With an overall dungeon vibe with high ceilings, green marble pillars, and no natural light, the Slytherin common room is the most sinister of the four rooms.
To access it, players should navigate to the grand staircase and head all the way down.
Best Common Room in Hogwarts Legacy
Gryffindor is cozy and filled with autumn colors, Hufflepuff is an escape into nature, Ravenclaw is a scholar’s and astronomer’s heaven, while Slytherin is a dark, mysterious, and elegant hideout.
The best common room in Hogwarts Legacy largely depends on your style and architectural preferences.
For me, the best common room in Hogwarts Legacy is Ravenclaw. It’s classy and full of details, and its large open spaces and elegant colors motivate students to study or enjoy the view both day and night from the highest common room location in the game.
Wrapping up
To summarize, these are all the common rooms in Hogwarts Legacy, each with its unique details and theme.
While it’s fully based on personal preference, the best common room in my opinion is Ravenclaw. However, all four common rooms have some great characteristics, so you can’t go wrong with any of them.
