Sherri Phoraena is one of the few characters that can use the exclusive Shaman class.
She packs a full roster of powerful spells, focused primarily on earth magic. Sherri combines high damage with a great range on her spells, thus being able to take down enemies easily from afar.

In this guide, I will explain how to recruit Sherri in Tactics Ogre Reborn by showcasing all steps to follow.
Step 1: Keep Sherri Alive at Hagia Banhamuba
Thankfully Sherri can be recruited regardless of the route you chose to follow. Contrary to characters such as Ozma, who requires following the Lawful route, Sherri doesn’t have any route-related requirements.
In Chapter 4, during the battle at Hagia Banhamuba, you will need to defeat all enemies except Sherri. Your goal is to keep Sherri alive with less than 10% HP remaining.
As long as she’s the last one standing and has low HP, Sherri will retreat and you’ll have the chance of recruiting her later on.
Step 2: Place Olivya in Your Party and Have Over 50 Loyalty
After completing the battle at Hagia Banhamuba, place Olivya in your party and make sure her loyalty is above 50.
To check Olivya’s loyalty, open the party menu and use the help button on her details to see the displayed message. Based on the message, you can understand her loyalty level.
Here are all the possible messages and their respective loyalty.
- 100-81 Loyalty – This unit supports you in all things. A loyal ally to the end.
- 80-61 Loyalty – This unit speaks on your behalf to win others to your side.
- 60-41 Loyalty – More often than not, this unit speaks in support of your decisions.
- 40-31 Loyalty – Though not openly discontent, this unit is often at odds with your decisions.
- 30-21 Loyalty – Of late, this unit has grown more vocal in criticizing your decisions.
- 20-11 Loyalty – It’s not uncommon to find this unit defying you openly in front of others.
- 10-0 Loyalty – This unit has lost all faith in you and can scarcely look you in the eyes while talking.
Based on that, you want to aim for either of the first two messages.
To raise Olivya’s loyalty focus on increasing her other weapon skills by a few levels each.
Step 3: Return to Phidoch Castle and Then Travel to Balmamusa During Stormy Weather
After Sherri retreats from the battle of Banhamuba and with Olivya in the main party, players will need to return to Phidoch castle and progress with the main storyline.
Right after Phidoch castle, when unlocking a variety of new battles and before completing any of them, players should travel to Balmamusa to trigger a cutscene.
To meet Sherri at Balmamusa, there is one main requirement: the weather must be stormy.
To make the weather stormy, players will need to use the Horn of the Savage item. If the weather is rainy, they will need to use the horn once to make it stormy. If the weather is dry, they will need to use it twice.
As long as the weather is stormy and you have Olivya with over 50 loyalty in your party, traveling to Balmamusa should automatically trigger a cutscene where you recruit Sherri.
