How to Tame Creatures in Smalland Survive the Wilds
Taming creatures in Smalland is a two-step process. First, players need to craft the required treat. Each creature requires a different treat, and some are harder to obtain than others.
Then, they’ll need to locate the creature and damage it, until it reaches low enough HP to give it the treat.
Based on that, let’s see where to find Geckoes and how to craft their favorite treats.
Where to Find & Tame Gecko in Smalland: Survive the Wilds
Geckoes can be found in two locations in Smalland: Survive the Wilds.
First, they can be located at the beach south of the spawn, just next to the Rhino Beetle boss fight and in the same location where you get Flint.
Second, they can be found on the beach east of the spawn, just southeast of the Spider Matriarch boss.
To tame the Gecko, damage it until it reaches below 50% and interact with it to feed it the Gecko Treat.
Keep in mind that Geckoes are usually found in groups of three, so make sure to kill the first two and tame the third. Otherwise, the two wild ones will attack the one you just tamed.
How to Unlock and Craft a Gecko Treat
The Gecko treat is unlocked after defeating the first boss, the Rhino Beetle.
To locate the Rhino Beetle, progress the story, and interact with Skadi. This boss is located on the South side of the island, at the beach.
It’s in the same location where you can get Flint, so it’s hard to miss. Defeating it will drop the Rhino Split Horn, which you can bring back to Skadi to unlock the Gecko Treat recipe.
To craft the Gecko Treat, you’ll need to combine the following materials in a Cauldron:
- 2x Ant Head (Obtained by killing Ants).
- 2x Bee Head (Obtained by killing Bees).
- 1x Petal (Obtained by chopping plants like Mauve Plants which can be found near the starting area).
- 2x Seed Oil (Get seeds by cutting down Rye and Poppies and convert Seeds into Seed Oil at a Stonecutter).
With everything ready, find a Gecko, damage it, and interact with it to give the Gecko Treat and tame it.
