Unlocking all eight characters in Octopath Traveler 2 can be a challenging task, especially if you’re trying to get Ochette who is located on a remote island in the southeast of the map.
To get Ochette, players will need to set sail from a harbor and travel to Toto’haha: Beasting Bay, which can be found in the bottom right corner of the world map.

How to Get to Beasting Bay and Get Ochette in Octopath Traveler 2
If you chose Ochette as your starting character, then you’re already there. However, since you’re reading this, you’ve probably started with a different character.
Keep in mind that Ochette is one of the four best starting characters in Octopath Traveler 2 as she can capture beasts and has overall more weapon and damage-type options.
If you’re playing as any of the other seven characters, unlocking Ochette (or any other character you want) is fairly easy.
All you need to do is locate the nearest harbor to you and use the ferry to set sail.
For instance, if you started as Throne, the closest harbor is New Delsta Harbor: Anchorage. This area only has a Danger Level of 11, which you’ll be able to reach after plying through the first chapter of her story.

This works for every character; locate the closest port and head there to be able to sail.
How to Sail and Unlock More Characters in Octopath Traveler 2
As for how to sail after reaching a port, all you need to do is interact with the ferry there.
There will be a fee but you’ll be able to travel to any character’s starting location, including Ochette’s Beasting Bay.
Also, keep in mind that the fee is only a one-time charge. After traveling to a location for the first time, you’ll unlock the ability to fast travel there and won’t have to use the ferry anymore.
