A new massive patch has just hit IdleON, bringing World 7, named Shummerfin Deep, to its players. While I’m not one of the OGs, having just recently started playing this amazing game, I am sure that this article mentioning the plethora of additions, fixes, and changes, will be extremely useful to veterans.
We’ll go in-depth and check out all the goodies World 7 brings, but if you want a bare-bones summary, I’ll start with that (although I do recommend checking out all the changes – there’s plenty of them!)
Quick Overview
Here’s the summary of the new patch, at a glance:
- World 7: Shimmerfin Deep introduces a huge batch of maps (12-14 now, 26+ planned), new resources, secrets and side paths.
- Spelunking / Spelunkin is the first “double” skill with mine runs, amber upgrades, page collecting and direct ties to sailing, artifacts, summoning, Gaming, and the Farmer’s Market.
- Major systems like the Gallery, Friend Bonuses, Tome, Stamps, Jade Emporium, Beanstacking, Anvil Tabs, and Killroy’s shop all gain new layers.
- Combat gets a Crystal damage tier, five new coin tiers, new caps for Speedna and Veins of the Infernal, and a reworked damage curve above 10M T.
- Shallow Waters Companions replace Fallen Spirits, with a full list of powerful pet bonuses.
- The Gem Shop gains World 7 items, new LTOs, and the Ocean Raider Pack with a Corsair Coat and Whale Pet.
- Multiple QoL tweaks, balance passes, and bug fixes clean up everything from freezing issues to alchemy resets and Sneaking drops.
If you’re just getting started, I recommend taking a look at my IdleON strategy guide first. And then come back to read all the details regarding the new patch!
World 7 Layout and How to Unlock
World name: Shimmerfin Deep
How to unlock: Defeat The Emperor in World 6 and claim the “Gem to W7” item.
Current map count: There are 12 new maps, with the dev stating World 7 will eventually have over 26 maps, roughly double previous worlds.
On top of the core path, Shimmerfin Deep comes with side paths, caves, and secrets, plus plenty of new monsters and resource nodes that tie into the new skill and progression layers.
Early World 7 Map Restrictions
In the first Shimmerfin Deep maps, there are some special rules in place:
- Multikill:
- Requires 5× damage to activate.
- It is reduced by account strength.
- Banned skull items:
- Charred Skulls
- Stacked Skulls
- Memorial Skulls
- For the new skill (Spelunkin):
- Skill Efficiency Bonuses are reduced by 95%.
- Skill EXP Bonuses are reduced by 90%.
World 7 also adds new inventory expansion items to the General Shop, and introduces a new voting bonus called Multi Meritocracy.
Spelunkin – The New Double Skill

World 7’s headline system is the first “double” skill in IdleOn, as it features both a main active ability and a collecting feature.
Main Spelunking Feature – Mine Runs & LORE Bosses
- You choose three of your characters to descend into mines.
- Runs involve delving down tunnels, destroying rocks, and collecting amber that you spend on upgrades.
- At the bottom of each mine is a boss, and beating that boss unlocks new content across various systems (artifacts, summoning, farming, etc.).
Collecting Feature – Pages in Caves
Spelunking’s gathering side mirrors Mining, but with a twist:
- You AFK at caves located on many World 7 maps (including one right outside town) to level the skill.
- Instead of ore, you collect “pages”:
- They are used as crafting materials, similar to ore.
- You can hold down on them to read the pages, which boosts your Spelunking stats directly.
- As with Mining, you need higher efficiency to farm better spots.
Spelunking is also the gateway for multiple other features in this patch:
- A new sailing island with 4 new artifacts.
- A new artifact tier: Omnipotent, which sits after Sovereign.
- 11 new Summoning upgrades, including a new unit type and fresh opponents.
- 24 new Gaming “superbit” upgrades.
- 60 new Farmer’s Market upgrades sold in the Exotic Market.

Shimmerfin Deep Content & Side Systems
Apart from Spelunking, there is a lot more added by the new game patch – content that spreads well beyond the newly-introduced World 7, so each player can see new things, depending on where they are in the game.
Humble Hugh’s Coral Reef & Ninja Knowledge
You will start rescuing Lil Fishies scattered around World 7, which are part of the Humble Hugh – Coral Reef feature. Returning fish lets you restore and upgrade individual reefs for very powerful, game-changing bonuses.
Currently, there are 4 Lil Fishies you can find, but more are planned for the future. Finally, The Coral Reef also unlocks 12 new Mini Ninja Knowledge upgrades.
Secrets & Flavor Content
There are tons of secrets spread around Shimmerfin Deep:
- Dancing coral
- The Clamworks
- The 11th divinity “Coralkid”
- Other hidden interactions and rewards the dev outright tells you to keep quiet about when you find them
Account-Wide Progression: Gallery, Friends, Tome & More
This patch leans hard into account-wide bonuses, making all that grinding even more rewarding. Here’s what is new:
The Gallery
The Gallery is a new feature that stores all your trophies and nametags in one place.
Any bonuses those items give are applied account-wide, so you can equip whatever looks coolest on each character without losing stats.
A new “Replica” trophy and nametag are sold in the World 7 town shop to help you outfit multiple characters with matching setups.
Friend Bonuses
Friend support is now formalized:
- Turn on “2x tap player” in Options.
- Double tap another player and select “Add Friend”.
- In the Codex – Friends section, select your friend and choose which bonuses to send.
- You can send multiple bonuses based on your Account Level.
- Your friend claims them via their own Codex.
The better your account, the stronger the Friend Bonuses you can hand out and the more and higher level, active friends you have, the better for you via the rewards you will receive.

Tome, Stamps, Jade & Beanstacking
These systems are also changed and optimized, as follows:
Tome system
There are 11 new Tome metrics that award Tome Points. Tome metrics are reordered in a more world-based sequence, with “main” metrics at the top.
A new “(?)” help button appears on the Tome Ranking screen, telling you how many points you need to hit the next rank.
The value of around 15 large metrics (things like Account Level, items found, artifacts, etc.) has been adjusted upward so they grant more points.
Tome cosmetics
7 new nametags that are tied to Tome performance. You claim them monthly based on your Percentile Rank.
Stamps
7 new stamps, mostly earned from two new Piggy NPCs in World 7.
Jade Emporium
4 new Jade Emporium purchases, including a 9th Writing Utensil bonus for Crop Scientist.
Beanstacking
A 3rd tier of Beanstacking is added, requiring 1,000,000 gold food. This third tier must be unlocked via Sad Urie’s questline.
Anvil & Recipes
A brand-new Anvil Tab VII can now be unlocked. It contains 24 new equipment and items (armor, weapons, tools, material bags, and more). Recipes drop from various World 7 monsters.
Patch also adds missing recipes from Anvil Tabs I, II, IV and VI. Some are unlocked by the old Task Unlocks system, others are monster drops. You can tap the “?” icon in the anvil UI to see how to obtain each recipe.
VIP Talent Library
The remaining 2-star talents are now available in the VIP talent library, completing that set.
New Items, Resources, Vials & Cooking
The update adds new resource sinks and progression layers, as follows:
- Farmer’s Market / Exotic Market: 60 new Farmer’s Market upgrades are available in the Exotic Market, unlocked through Spelunking.
- Vials: 9 new vials based on new resources and World 7 monster drops.
- Cooking: 4 new Meals added in Cooking. Recipes use a new spice obtained from breeding.
Minigames & Gaming System Updates

Two minigames are added, each with its own currency and trophy chase (and they are both accessible through World 1):
Swishy Hoops
Location: Bored Bean map (World 1). This is a basketball-style minigame with 3 lives. For each basket you score, you gain one point. These points can then be spent at the new shop (near the minigame location) for various boosts.
There is also an award you can earn for reaching a score of at least 40 points.
Throwy Darts
Location: Baby Boa Snakes map (also World 1). This is a darts-style game, easier than the basketball one, but requiring more points for purchasing upgrades.
You can also get the game’s trophy for scoring 9 bullseyes in a row.
Palette & Gaming Sprouts
New Gaming feature: Palette lets you add color to your sprouts, and it is tied to 37 permanent bonuses as you work the system.
Gaming sprouts now grow slower, depending on how strong your Crop Scientist is (but no longer go beyond 100% as before).

Damage, Coins & High-End Scaling
World 7 also reworks high-end damage and currency to make gigantic numbers easier to read and balance.
Crystal – New Damage Tier
Basically, 1 Crystal damage = 1,000,000 Trillion damage. This means that, for example, if you were dealing 175,000,000T damage, it now displays as 175 Crystal. Same goes for monster health – 250 Crystal HP means 250,000,000T HP.
New Coin Tiers
Five new coin tiers extend the late-game currency ladder:
- 100 Eclipse Coins – 1 Neuro Coin
- 100 Neuro – 1 Isometric Coin
- 100 Isometric – 1 Cyber Coin
- 100 Cyber – 1 Synthesis Coin
- 100 Synthesis – 1 Polarity Coin
Damage Scaling & Emperor HP
- Damage scaling has been changed so large numbers are harder to reach beyond 10,000,000T (10 Crystal).
- To keep things fair, Emperor HP scaling has been slowed down, so this new damage curve does not change which Showdown tier you can beat.
Movement, Smithing & Other Caps
Several unbounded stats now have caps:
- Bowman’s Speedna talent now caps at 2000% movement speed.
- Veins of the Infernal now caps at Smithing Level 100.
Companions & Pets

World 7 adds a full Companion set themed around water, and also retires an older set.
Shallow Waters Companions
The Shallow Waters Companions set is now available, and the patch states that the previous Fallen Spirits pets are no longer obtainable.
Your free weekly companion now comes from the Shallow Waters set, and a new Whallamus companion is highlighted as “awaiting its new owner”.
Here is a full list of Shallow Waters pets and their bonuses:
| Companion | Bonus |
|---|---|
| Whallamus | 10× Class EXP and +10 Legend Talent Points |
| Balloonfish | 4× Masterclass drops (Bones / Dust / Tachyon) |
| Pufferbob | +50% Meritocracy Bonus Multi |
| Shellslug | 1.75× Daily Reef Coral |

Gem Shop, New Items & Paid Pack
World 7 adds a dedicated Gem Shop section, new offers in older worlds, and a premium pack. On top of that, the articles mention new Limited Time Offers including: 1 Gem deals for 5 Star Cardifier and 2 Super Ribbons for Cooking
World 7 also introduces three new Gem Shop purchases in the World 5 and World 6 sections, as time-skip Gem items have been moved to the Oddities section.
Ocean Raider Pack
A new paid pack is called “Ocean Raider Pack” (listed at $19.99) and includes:
- 2,000 Pet Crystals
- 4,500 Gems
- Corsair Coat with 1.5× Drop Rate and 4× Coins
- Whale Pet that gives 2× Class EXP and 2× Skill EXP
More Systems & Balance Changes
Plenty of nerfs, boosts, and changes/fixes, including:
- Lab Chip – Trophy
- The lab chip that previously doubled your trophy now instead gives +10% Gallery bonus once you reach World 7.
- Lab Chip – Starsigns
- The lab chip that doubled your active starsigns now doubles all infinite starsigns once you unlock them. This removes the need to micromanage starsigns.
- Time Candies
- Time candy drop rates now scale differently: they’re easier to get for new players, and harder for high-end accounts.
- Yang Cogs
- Yang cogs are buffed slightly, and the change applies retroactively to all existing Yang cogs.
World 6 Portals, Pet Territory & Spices
- Multi-character locked portals in World 6 now require fewer characters to unlock (for example, the final lock now needs just 3 characters instead of 9).
- Pet Territory fights (late-game): Small healer enemies have been removed from late-game Pet Territory battles and enemy HP has been reduced.
UI & Misc Gameplay Tweaks
A lot of little usability improvements are bundled into the patch as well:
- Orion & Poppy
- ORION is added to the Codex now.
- You can switch instantly between Orion and Poppy.
- Sneaking & Ninja Knowledge
- Kunai no longer drop in Sneaking once you get all 10 characters.
- You can now hold down on Ninja Knowledge upgrades in Sneaking to interact with them more comfortably.
- Poppy’s Fish Pond
- You can hold down on “reset-spiral” upgrades at Poppy’s fish pond.
- Main Menu
- You can now double-click a character on the main menu to start playing, without hitting the separate “Play” sign.
- Killroy’s Skull Shop & Balls
- 5 new upgrades are added to Killroy’s Skull Shop.
- They’re only available after you get him onto his “revenge arc” and expand the business.
- The number of balls you buy from Killroy is increased from 6 to 10, but there is now a weekly cap on purchases.
- Emperor Set
- The Emperor Set now requires 7 equipment pieces instead of 6.
- The new piece is the Bramble of the Emperor pendant, unlocked via the old Task Unlocks feature.
New Stats, Market Tweaks & Misc Systems
- MSA bonuses boosted: Farming EXP, Jade gain, Cooking EXP, Class EXP, Essence gain.
- The breakpoint for Tenteyecle’s 1-second reduction effect is adjusted.
- New Arcade Ball Bonus
Bug Fixes & Technical Issues
A long list of bugs get cleared out alongside World 7:
- Freezing bug: Fixes a severe freezing issue that affected some late-game players shortly after opening the game.
- Gold Relic artifact: Corrects the maximum number of days it applies +% Printer Sample size.
- Trapping EXP overflow (mobile): Fixed an EXP overflow issue affecting Trapping on mobile.
- Anvil Production overflow (mobile): Fixed an overflow bug in Anvil Production on mobile.
- Alchemy issues: Fixes an inconsistency in alchemy stat displays.
- Gold Charms display in Sneaking fixed to display correct bonuses.
- Pristine charm issue is now fixed.
