How Do I Find My Steam ID and How Can I Use It?

Not sure how to find your Steam ID? You don’t have to worry because finding it is easier than you first thought.

Each person who uses Steam has a unique 17-digit Steam ID, which is used to identify your account, for example, on such services: https://profilerr.net/services/steam-id/.

If you want to connect Steam to a third-party account, they may need your Steam ID to connect.

What is your Steam ID?

Steam ID is a unique identifier used internally to identify a Steam account, with this ID it is possible to:

• Show or hide the Steam user avatar;
• Show or hide Steam user location based on the Open Street Maps framework
• Export usage lists on search sites such as Profilerr;
• Enabling or disabling autofocus in input form fields;
• Posting comments.

What is your Steam ID 64?

Steam ID 64 is the code we can find at the end of our profile URL. This short number is in our profile and serves to introduce us to other users. We can access game invites with this code because we can also get banned forever.

Why do you need a Steam ID?

Essentially, the Steam ID will be the recognition code that we will have on the platform. For example, when we create an account, we have to add an email and a password, from here a code will be generated, which is a Steam ID.

But what can we do about it? In short, this code will be the identifier of our account in games such as CS: GO which has a US market size of 1 billion dollars.

It is possible that other players ask for your ID to add you to a new game, also in extreme cases and ban games, Steam ID is used to prevent a certain player from logging in.

How to find your Steam ID

There are various ways to determine your Steam ID, including looking at your account data and viewing your profile on the site itself, but there are also alternate techniques, such as utilizing programs like Steam ID64.

Step 1. Access to account settings

First, open the Steam client and log in to your account. Once done, tap on the “Steam” option that you will find at the top left corner of the screen and select the “Options” option.

Step 2. Shows URLs in the Steam client

Once you are on the settings screen, select the “Interface” option that you will find on the left side menu of the screen. Then check “Show Steam address bar when possible” and click “OK”.

Step 3. Access to the platform profile

Go back to the main Steam store screen and check what the URL of the page you are currently on looks like. Once done, click next to the user icon in the top right corner of the screen and select the View My Profile option.

Step 4. Find your Steam ID

Already on your Steam profile page, you will have access to your ID number on the Valve platform.

You will find it inside the URL shown in green on the user icon by following the pattern “https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/” where x is the 17 digits of your ID. To copy it, just hover over the number, right-click, and select the “Copy” option.

How to get HEX from Steam?

Hex is a hexadecimal abbreviation, this abbreviation belongs to our Steam ID64 and is known as Steam Hex ID Finder, and we may need to whitelist it sometimes when creating a server in FiveM.

To get Steam HEX, we need to access SteamID.pro like Steam Hex ID Finder. This way, the server can return values like: steamid64 or Steam Profile URL and Steam Community URL.

How do I create my own Steam URL?

In order to create our own custom URL in Steam, we need to perform the following steps:

• You must be logged into your Steam account
• Click on your avatar in the profile located in the upper right corner of the page.
• Next, in the drop-down menu, click on the “Edit profile” button located on the right side of the page.
• On the next page, find the field “Custom URL field” and enter the desired name there
• Click “Save” and voilà, our custom URL is saved.

Now you have your Steam URL, which will make it easier for your friends to find you.

How to set up a profile

We may take advantage of this chance to further customise our profile to fit our preferences while we’re already working on the menu to update our profile.

We may change our avatar and profile background on the Avatar tab, which will be visible to our friends when they see our user data.
