The Helm of Urtkot is one of the main quests in Hogwarts Legacy and it is filled with tricky puzzles.
Specifically, players will have to search the tomb for the helmet and unlock a total of four doors by finding the nearby hidden moths and guiding them there.
In this guide, I will explain how to search the tomb for the helmet and complete the Helm of Urtkot quest by solving the moth door puzzles.
The Helm of Urtkot Quest Guide in Hogwarts Leagcy
After speaking with Sirona and Lodgok, players will be tasked with traveling to the Collector’s cave near Hogsmeade. Within that cave, there will be four locked doors, each with three moth symbols on it.
Similar to the Mer-ky Depths quest, players will need to locate the moths and guide them to the door by using Lumos. Let’s see how to solve the four door puzzles in turn.
How to Unlock the First Door in the Helm of Urtkot
The first door encountered right after entering the cave will already have two moths placed on it.

Players will need to head left to locate the third moth, use Lumos to guide it to the door, and stop casting Lumos while next to the door to complete this puzzle.
How to Unlock the Second Door in the Helm of Urtkot
Right after the first puzzle, players will reach a circular room with another moth door. From this door, all three moths will be missing.

The first two moths can be found on the sides of the circular room, while the third is behind a closed door that can be opened by casting Depulso.
How to Unlock the Third Door in the Helm of Urtkot
Fight the Inferi skeletons in the next room, which requires using fire spells to damage them, and keep moving until you find the third door puzzle.
For this puzzle, there will be a door missing three moths, and a mechanism key in the center of the room.
Use Lumos to guide one of the moths that’s on the edge of the room in the mechanism (not the door) and stand on the platform at the right side of the room.

While on the platform, and with the mechanism activated, cast Depulso multiple times on the mechanism to lift your platform. This will allow you to access the second moth, which you should place at the door.
Then, remove the first moth from the mechanism and also place it at the door.
The third and last moth will be at the edge of the room.
How to Solve the Chest Puzzle with the Missing Bridge
After the third door, there will be a chest that players can’t access because the bridge is missing. To solve this puzzle, use Accio on the two skeleton piles below you and place them on the missing bridge.

This will form a bridge and allow you to cross and reach the chest.
How to Unlock the Last Door in the Helm of Urtkot
In the next room, hit the box hanging from the ceiling with a basic attack and jump down the broken floor. Head right, defeat the Inferi there and you’ll find the fourth and final moth puzzle.

Here’s what you’ll need to do to solve this puzzle.
- Take the moth on your left and place it in the mechanism at the center of the room.
- Stand on the platform behind the mechanism and use Depuslo multiple times to reach the top.
- Pick the moth from one side of the platform with Lumos and bring it to the door on the other side.
- Pick the moth next to the door and guide it to the door as well. Two moths down, one to go.
- Jump down and find another moth located around the main room.
- Place it on another mechanism that is down and left from the door (see image above).
- Stand on the platform from step 2 and use Depulso to reach the door again (without a moth – the moth will be at the mechanism from step 6).
- Run toward the door and pick up the moth just left of it since the mechanism will be lifted. (Using Depulso on the central mechanism will lift the second mechanism.)
- Place the final moth at the door to solve the puzzle.

With this step completed, pick up the artifact from the final room and exit the tomb. Interact with Lodgok to complete this quest.
