The Frozen Wilds: A New DLC Adventure for Horizon Zero Dawn

Earlier this year the PlayStation 4 saw the release of Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn. Players assumed the role of Aloy, a hunter living in a world overrun by robots. Horizon was an grand open-world adventure that let Aloy play and experiment with the environment, when she wasn’t taking down massive robotic beasts of course.

During PlayStation Paris Games Week 2017, Guerrilla Games has officially announced the first major DLC pack for the game. Titled The Frozen Wilds, Guerrilla Games promises that this new adventure will give you at least fifteen more hours of content.

The Frozen Wilds takes place in the Cut, a frozen wasteland that separates the Aloy’s homelands from the rest of the world. With a deadly climate and even deadlier machines, only the best hunters dare step foot in the Cut. Of course Aloy finds herself stumbling into it, but why exactly remains unknown. You’ll have to see for yourself!

The Frozen Wilds runs alongside the main story quest, meaning that you’ll be able to access it early on. You may want to hold off for a bit though, as the enemies may be too tough. Among other things the game is getting a new Photo mode that lets the player pose Aloy with the environment to take some pretty awesome snaps. There’s also a new skill tree that focuses on new mounted abilities, like mounted foraging.

The Frozen Wilds will launch on November 7. If you haven’t experienced the original game yet, keep in mind that the Horzion Zero Dawn Complete Collection will launch in December, just a month after. The Complete Collection contains the base game, the bonus content from the Digital Deluxe edition, and of course the upcoming The Frozen Wilds DLC pack.
