In this Forever Skies guide, I will go over how to get past the flowers, while exploring the tunnels in the Underdust.
You will find many usable plants while exploring, but sometimes you will be a not so welcomed guest, in their ecosystem. In the tunnels of the Undersdust, some areas will be blocked off by these not-so-friendly flowers with teeth, and claws.
You will need to find a way to get past them, preferably in one piece. Your survival in this post-apocalyptic world may depend on it.
So grab a pen, paper, or whatever else is stuck in the back of the drawer in your airship base, and get to crafting.
You will need to give yourself a Hypothermia Booster, which significantly reduces your body temperature.
But that’s only the beginning, I will also explain the steps that eventually lead to the creation of the Hypothermia Booster if you have no idea how to make it or unlock it.

Forever Skies: Crafitng the Hypothemria Booster
The Hypothermia Booster is a consumable type of craftable item, in the Fabricator.
It has a stack size of zero, and it will be unlocked through the research of the Vertigo Virus.
The Fabricator is a type of equipment, that will be found at the beginning of the game. It helps players craft basic tools and devices by processing raw resources and components.
It is on a table behind the airship, on the top floor. Keep in mind though, that as of the game’s current release of Early Access, you have no options to build another Fabricator. So don’t forget it, or lose it!
Forever Skies: Researching the Vertigo Virus
To be able to research the Vertigo Virus you will first need to have a Virus Sample Analyzer.
For the Virus Sample Analyzer, you will first need to scan it after you find it on the surface. Once that is done you will need to research it on your airship base.
These are the materials needed in order to research the Virus Sample Analyzer.
- 2x Electric Elements
- 2x Energy Crystals
- 1x Polymer
After the research is done, you will need to turn to the fabricator, and craft one
These are the materials needed in order to craft the Virus Sample Analyzer.
- 1x Motherboard
- 4x Energy Crystal
- 2x Polymer
After you craft and place the Virus Sample Analyzer you will need to use a Dust Daisy. After you place it in, you will play a minigame where you will need to isolate the Chromavirus.
It may take some trial and error, but eventually, you will get it. Once the minigame is completed you will get a “Virus Sample Extracted” message.
Extract it from the bottom of the machine, and then go back into researching it. Place it in the research station, and you will see that you will be able to research the Hypothermia Booster.
You will also unlock two different blueprints for the Vertigo Virus, to create more Hypothermia Boosters.
