If you’re looking for a For Honor tier list that showcases the best characters in the game, you’ve come to the right place.
There are 33 unique characters in the game and each of them has a unique playstyle with distinct strengths and weaknesses. Overall, the best heroes in For Honor are Medjay, Jiang Jun, and Black Prior.
Overall, the best characters in this tier list manage to stand out due to high overall stats, strong abilities, and strong available upgrades.
The latest hero addition is Ocelotl, so let’s dive straight in to find out where he ranks.
For Honor Tier List
In this For Honor tier list, I’ve ranked all heroes from best to worst. S-tier characters are must-try options that stand out due to their powerful kits that are easy to learn.
A and B-tier options are more situational but can be equally strong if you master them but can be harder to learn and more punishing for newer players.
Lastly, C-tier options are not recommended since they are high-risk low-reward heroes. They are playable but, unless you really like the character style, are better left unplayed.
Tier S Characters
Heroes in the S-tier are the absolute best in the game and are great options to try if you’re looking for a new main.
- Medjay
- Jiang Jun
- Black Prior
- Afeera
- Tiandi
- Orochi
- Kyoshiin
- Zhanhu
Tier A Characters
A-tier heroes have great stats and abilities overall but they are a bit trickier to master than S-tier ones.
- Conqueror
- Ocelotl
- Warlord
- Raider
- Shaolin
- Warmonger
- Nobushi
- Shinobi
- Valkyrie
What do you think of Ocelotl? Would you place him higher or lower?
Tier B Characters
B-tier heroes are more situational and less versatile than A-tier options but they are still strong overall.
- Centurion
- Berserker
- Jormungandr
- Pirate
- Lawbringer
- Gladiator
- Warden
Tier C Characters
Lastly, C-tier characters have been on the weaker side of the spectrum and I would recommend avoiding them, at least until they receive some buff.
- Aramusha
- Gryphon
- Shaman
- Nuxia
- Peacekeeper
- Hitokiri
- Kensei
- Shugoki
- Highlander
If you really like the design of these characters, you should definitely try them out. After all, even C-tier characters can help you win games, including 1v1 duels and 4v4 encounters.
Best Characters in For Honor
Despite the huge number of characters available, some heroes manage to stand out as the best overall in For Honor. These are the following:
Medjay
The best character in For Honor is Medjay, especially for 4v4 fights. He has huge hitboxes with all of his attacks and his hyper armor allows him to control the battlefield.
Combined with his dodge attack, Medjay can easily switch targets mid-combo and can apply constant pressure. Additionally, his combos allow him to even one-shot enemies if done correctly, which makes Medjay an ideal 1v1 character.
On top of everything, he is one of the easiest characters to use, which makes him a low-risk, high-reward pick. His best traits include Scarab Relief, Second Wind, and Heal on Block.
Jiang Jun
Jiang Jun combines huge hitboxes, a hyper armor heavy attack, and an unblockable heavy attack and thus is considered one of the strongest heroes.
With exceptionally high damage, Jiang Jun is ideal for both 1v1 and team fight scenarios, especially when considering his extra stamina regeneration from his stance and his extra i-frames.
In terms of feats, use Deadly, Inspire, Soothing Mist, and any of the tier 4 options.
Black Prior
Black Prior is the best all-around character in For Honor primarily due to his bash that can easily catch enemies off guard. Combined with his unblockable heavy finisher, Black Prior can become unstoppable.
The most important thing is to learn and master the Bulwark mechanic. Use it often but not too often as it leaves you vulnerable if you get countered. As long as you can master this mechanic, you’ll be unstoppable.
As for traits, I recommend Healing Ward, Oathbreaker, and Sinister Shield.
Wrapping up
To wrap up this For Honor tier list, Medjay, Jiang Jun, and Black Prior are the best characters in the game for both 1v1 and teamfight encounters.
Keep in mind that every character can be good with enough practice and you should feel free to try and master your favorite characters regardless of their rankings. After all, all tier lists are, to some extent, subjective.
