Choosing the best civilization in Era of Conquest will give you some unique boosts, as well as a guaranteed starting hero to develop.
But what is the best civilization in the game? That’s what we’re going to discuss today. And we’ll start with a quick overview in case you’re in a hurry and you don’t want to check all the in-depth details.
The best civilization in Era of Conquest is Germanic (as you get Hermann, one of the best 5-star heroes in the game, as well as solid boosts), followed by British, Korean or Japanese.
The truth is that the differences between the civilizations are not that huge in Era of Conquest, the main being the actual aspect of the buildings (each civilization having its own style), as well as the different starting hero.
Yes, each has a bonus offered to resource production, but in the long run and in reality, this doesn’t really change things much.
So… how to choose the best civilization in Era of Conquest?
As I said, the best civilizations in the game are Germanic, Korean, British, Japanese or Russian.
All of these have one thing in common: they offer a boost in the production of two different types of resources, as opposed to a bigger boost offered by the others.
Also, Germanic is the best because of the starting hero – Hermann, who is an amazing defensive hero.
Now we should go a bit more in depth with each of the civilizations you can choose in the game, their unique bonuses and especially their unique heroes to know exactly what to choose.

Conclusion
Even though the choice of your civilization in Era of Conquest won’t really affect the mid and late game too much, having a better Hero to start with can give you an advantage early on.
Therefore, I would suggest choosing the Germanic civilization for the best benefits. If you don’t really want that, these are the next best ones: Korean, British, Japanese, and Russian.
Since you can’t change your civilization in Era of Conquest after starting the game, make sure to take this article into consideration and make a choice based on your play style (and the Hero you want to start with).

I don’t like German’s Herman because of the Taunt. For an F2P, I feel like the last thing I want is to draw attention to myself and have attacks focused on me. My concern is that coiners would be able to mass a greater attack than I can defend against.
