Disgaea 7: How to Unlock Carnage Mode

Are you trying Carnage Mode in Disgaea 7 and access the highest-difficulty dimension? Here’s how to do it.

This is done by completing the main story, finishing the three extra Postlude story episodes, and then accepting and completing four extra quests in the Quest Shop.

In this guide, I will explain everything you need to do to unlock Carnage Mode in Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtuless, including how to complete all necessary quests and unlock the extra Carnage Stages.

How to Unlock Carnage Mode in Disgaea 7

To unlock Carnage Mode, you must fulfill the following requirements:

Complete all 15 Episodes of the Main Story
Complete the three Postlude Story Episodes (Atonement, Reminiscence, and Zessho)
Complete the four new quests that show up in the Quest shop (Win Evil Prizes, Bounty: Item God, 9,999 Moves Ahead, and I Wanna See the Best)

Once you complete these four quests, you’ll unlock Carnage Mode. However, this is easier said than done. Let’s go into detail about how to complete each of these quests.

Win Evil Prizes

To complete the “…Win Evil Prizes” quest, head to the Netherworld Hospital and access the ‘Pull Evil-Gacha’ tab.

From there, go through each tier and use the ‘Claim Complete Perks’ to claim everything. The final tier will be Overlord.

Bounty: Item God

To defeat an Item God in Disgaea 7, you must be in a Legendary or Epic item and reach floor 30. Normal and Rare items reach up to floors 10 and 20 respectively, so you can’t use these.

Reach Floor 30 and the Item God will spawn. Kill it and that will complete the quest.

9,999 Moves Ahead

How to unlock Carnage Mode in Disgaea 7 - 9,999 moves ahed quest guide.

For this quest, you’ll need to clear a Super Overlord Class of Demon Shogi. Head to the Dimension Guide, access Ep. 5: Something Harder to See Than the Future, and select ‘Netherworld Sightseeing’ (press Square).

Find and interact with the Demon Shogi, play the Shogi Puzzle, and select the Super Overlord Class. Defeat the enemies there and as long as you can do it in less than 10 turns, you’ll get the quest completed.

I Wanna See the Best

Lastly, the “I Wanna See the Best” quest will require you to clear a Super Overlord Class Hinomoto MA Tournament. Just like before, head to Dimension Guide but this time access Ep. 4: The Ultimate Martial Arts Tournament Begins! in Netherworld Sightseeing (press Square).

Interact with the Hinomoto Martial Arts Tournament NPC, select ‘Join Tournament’, and choose the Super Overlord Class (costs 1,000,000 HL). Clear this stage and the quest will complete.

With all four quests completed, Carnage Guide will unlock next to Dimension Guide.

How to Unlock All Carnage Stages in Disgaea 7

With Carnage Dimension unlocked you’ll be able to access all 15 episodes again. Each episode will have 5 stages and a hidden Carnage Stage that won’t be unlocked immediately.

To unlock this extra Carnage Stage, head to the Quest Shop and accept the new Bounty quest available (Bounty: Hado Z). Once you complete it, you’ll unlock another Bounty quest and there are 15 of them in total. Completing all of them will unlock all Carnage Stages.

To summarize, you can unlock Carnage Mode in Disgaea 7 by completing the main story and all three Postlude Episodes, as well as the four new quests that show up afterward.

Once unlocked, make sure to accept and progress the new bounty quests in the Quest Shop to also unlock all Carnage Stages.
