The Rogue is one of the five available classes in Diablo 4 and features exceptionally high single-target damage and AoE at the cost of reduced survivability.
If you’re interested in extremely fast-paced gameplay that can take down bosses in seconds and even deal solid AoE damage.
In this guide, I will explain the best Rogue build in Diablo 4 focusing on the best active and passive skills, aspects, and skill rotation.
Best Rogue Active Skills in Diablo 4

Skill | Effect | Modifiers |
1. Puncture (Core Skill) | Throw blades that deal damage. Every third cast slows enemies for two seconds. Critical Strikes always slow enemies. | Enhanced – Gain 2 energy when damaging a Crowd Controlled enemy. Fundamental – Puncture throws three blades, each dealing 35% damage. Hitting an enemy with two or more blades leaves them Vulnerable for two seconds. |
2. Twisting Blades (Core Skill) | Impale an enemy with your blades and cause them to take 8% more damage while impaled (lasts 1.5 seconds). | Enhanced – 30% increased damage when the blades come back. Advanced – When Twisting Blades return, reduce active cooldowns by one second for each enemy they pass through (up to three seconds). |
3. Shadow Step (Agility Skill) | Become Unstoppable and dash to an enemy dealing damage while also gaining increased movement speed for two seconds. | – |
4. Shadow Imbuement (Imbuement Skill) | Your next two Imbueable skills will deal Shadow damage and cause enemies to explode on death. | Enhanced – 25% Critical Strike Chance against injured enemies affected by Shadow Imbuement. |
5. Poison Imbuement (Imbuement Skill) | Your next two Imbueable skills deal Poison damage up to 126% of their Base Damage over six seconds. | Enhanced – Increases duration by one second. Mixed – 30% chance to apply double Poisoning damage. |
6. Shadow Clone (Ultimate) | Your shadow mimics your actions while dealing 60% of your damage. | Prime – Unstoppable for five seconds after using this skill. Supreme – +20% Shadow Clone damage. |
Best Rogue Passives & Attributes in Diablo 4
Since this build focuses on maximizing damage, we’ll use any passives that help us deal even more damage while also providing some survivability and sustain. Here are the best Rogue passives:
- Weapon Mastery (Agility) – Gain bonus weapon damage based on your weapon (Dagger 15% to Healthy enemies, Sword 9% to all enemies, Bow 12% to Vulnerable enemies, Crossbow 15% Critical Strike Damage).
- Exploit (Subterfuge) – 18% increased damage to Healthy and Injured enemies.
- Sturdy (Core) – Extra Close Damage Reduction.
- Siphoning Strikes (Core) – Heal whenever you Critically Strike Close enemies.
In terms of Attributes, focus on increasing your Critical Strike Chance and Damage to make the most out of Siphoning Strikes and increase your overall DPS.
Best Aspects to Imprint for Rogue
Aspects can be imprinted via the Occultist merchant and the Codex of Power to further increase your offensive and defensive capabilities. Here are the best Legendary Aspects for this Rogue build:
- Cheat’s Aspect – Take 15% less damage from Crowd Controlled enemies and gain 15% movement speed when attacked by a Crowd Controlled enemy.
- Aspect of Siphoned Protection – Damaging a Vulnerable enemy with a Core Skill grants you a barrier for five seconds.
- Aspect of Corruption – Imbeument skills are 20% more effective against Vulnerable enemies.
Puncture makes it easy to trigger Aspect of Siphoned Protection, while Aspect of Corruption is extremely helpful as you have two Imbeument Skills.
Rogue Playstyle and Skill Rotation
For this Rogue build in Diablo 4, the ideal rotation starts with Puncture to apply Vulnerable, then any Imbeument Skill to deal extra damage with all the effects applied and constant rotation between the two.
Use Shadow Step when in danger and Shadow Clone to deal with harder enemies. With this combo, you’ll be able to take down enemies within seconds.
