Are you looking for the best amps in The Outlast Trials 1.0 update? Let’s go through what they’ve changed and what’s the current meta.
In short, the best amps in the game are Strong Arm, Slippers, and Incognito, while Noise Reduction and Last Chance can also be extremely strong alternatives in the right scenarios.
Let’s go through how amps work and explain what makes the ones mentioned above stand out.
How Amps Work in the 1.0 Update
Amps are character upgrades that you can purchase in the cafeteria and offer useful passive buffs that can help you survive more. As of the 1.0 update in The Outlast Trials, you are unable to use amps from the same group.
This means that you can’t simply select the three best amps and use them unless they are in different groups. Based on that, the top three amps that I recommend using in The Outlast Trials are in different groups and can be used together to help you create the strongest build.
Best Amps in The Outlast Trials
Since you can’t use all amps together, make sure to mix and match them suitably based on your playstyle.
Without further delay, let’s go through the five best amps in The Outlast Trials:
5. Noise Reduction
- Reduce sound from running and door openings
Noise Reduction allows you to move around the map with stealth and makes it easier to escape enemies when they spot you.

4. Last Chance
- The last enemy strike reduces your health to 1HP instead of causing death (5 minutes cooldown)
Last Chance is a free get-out-of-jail card that will allow you to escape death once every five minutes. It’s a great amp for newer players, as they are still learning the map, objectives, and enemies.
3. Incognito
- Your crouched walking speed is enhanced
The two most important elements in The Outlast Trials are stealth and speed. With Incognito, you can combine both since you can navigate the map undetected way faster.
2. Slippers
- You can walk on broken glass without making any noise.
Stepping on noise traps like broken glass will attract enemies and reduce your final grade. Since broken glass is in multiple locations around the map, it can be stressful to have to look down constantly.
With this amp, you can easily navigate the map without worrying about noise traps.
1. Strong Arm
- Bricks and bottles pack a stronger punch when thrown at an enemy, but the brick will shatter immediately
Finally, the best amp in The Outlast Trial is Strong Arm. The map is full of bricks and bottles but without this perk, they are extremely weak as they only stun enemies for a second.
With Strong Arm, you’ll be able to escape enemies more easily and keep them stunned while you and your allies complete objectives.
Also, while amps are a great way to improve your performance, they aren’t the only thing. For more similar tricks, here are the best tips for getting an A+ Grade in The Outlast Trials.
Wrapping up
To summarize, the best amps in The Outlast Trials are Incognito, Slippers, and Strong Arms.
With these, you’ll be able to create the strongest builds overall and survive even the most challenging trials.
