Demons in Bayonetta 3 are a new aspect added to the game and has earned a wide array of appreciation.
These demons, specifically known as Infernal Demons, provide a huge boost in strength and support, especially during boss fights.
Each demon comes with a different ability and is associated with a specific weapon in the game. They can also fuse with Bayonetta, when the specific weapon in equipped, and transform her into a powerful beast!
Are you excited to know more about these demons?
All Demons in Bayonetta 3
Most of the the demons in Bayonetta 3 are associated with the weapons available in the game. The weapons usually contain the essence of the monsters’ powers.
If you’ve gone through our guide on Weapons in Bayonetta 3, you’ve probably noticed that demons can be summoned when specific weapons are equipped. These demons are unlocked along with those weapons as well.
Madama Butterfly
Also known as the Mistress of Atrocity, Madama Butterfly is an Infernal Demon who uses both her beauty and brute force to take over enemies.
Her essence is trapped in the weapon Color my World, which enables Bayonetta to channel her strength while using the weapon and turning into a creature that resembles the Mistress of Atrocity.
The Demon Slave skill applies to Madama Butterfly too; apart from the high damage-dealing punches and kicks, her special kiss makes enemies turn against each other.
Gomorrah
Gomorrah is a scary and powerful creature that has characteristics like that of a dragon. Similar to Madama Butterfly, the Demon Slave and Demon Masquerade skills apply to this monster as well.
Thanks to the Demon Slave skill, you can control the actions of Gomorrah to deal those aggressive bites and rays of fire. Its strength is also channeled through the weapon, G-Pillar, and can turn Bayonetta into a demonic character.
Phantasmaraneae
The Twister of Flame, Phantasmaraneae, has the looks of an arachnid, but when it comes to structure, it’s much huger and more terrifying.
Phantasmaraneae first comes into Bayonetta 3 as one of the enemies in the game. However, after the end of the chapter, its power is trapped inside the Ignis Araneae Yo-Yo weapon, which can be used by Bayonetta later on.
This scary demon can also be summoned during battle and controlled by Bayonetta to paralyze and sting the enemies.
Wartrain Gouon
The Wartrain Gouon demon is literally a demon train!
Known as the Charger of the Crimson Rim, this Infernal Demon comes with chainsaw-like arms and wheels that can cause insane levels of damage. Turrets are also present for attacking enemies at a distance.
The Wartrain Gouon is associated with the Dead End Express weapon and turns Bayonetta into a wheeled monster with chainsaws during Demon Masquerade!
Baal
We had an arachnid and a train as demons. Now, we have a toad!
The Baal is a hideous demon with a large tongue, resembling that of a frog. The tongue is also Baal’s key ability, as she uses it hit and sweep through enemies. Furthermore, it can cause poison rain to fall with its special ability – singing!
Unlike the previous demons, only Demon Masquerade skill applies to Baal, through the Ribbit Libido-BZ55, and turns Bayonetta into a creature resembling sea monsters. She has the ability to attack enemies with the help of singing and sound.
Malphas
Malphas is one of those Infernal Demons in the game that has only good things to offer. It appears in Bayonetta 3 to aid her against chasing Homunculi.
This bird-like demon can release fiery projectiles at enemies while also being able to create a tornado-like environment that sucks enemies in to eventually reduce their health.
The Simoon has the ability to channel Malphas’ strengths and once it’s equipped, Bayonetta grows wing-like arms that helps her to glide rapidly towards enemies and attack with deadly combos.
Umbran Clock Tower
The Umbran Clock Tower refers to the clock tower in the home of the Umbra Witches and is a sign of their identity.
This Infernal Demon has an arsenal of weapons ready to attack enemies, such as guns and sawblades. It may not be able to move from its place, but it can rotate and adjust during fights.
The Umbra Clock Tower works with Tartarus and enables Bayonetta to hover during Demon Masquerade.
Mictlantecuhtli
Mictlantecuhtli was first introduced in Bayonetta 2, and it appears in Bayonetta 3 as two brothers. While they fight as one creature, the top half is regarded as the older brother, while the bottom half is the younger one.
During Demon Masquerade, Mictlantecuhtli divides Bayonetta’s body into two parts and since it works with Abracadabra, the body parts are linked by magical connection.
It adds some uniqueness in gliding with the fact that Bayonetta can make one part of her body move in a direction first and delay the other body part by some time.
Alraune
One of the key enemies in Bayonetta 2, Alraune, makes an appearance in Bayonetta 3 as well.
The Whisperer of Dementia is associated with the Alruna weapon in the game, which is a set of four whips. These whips are strong and thick as well as having spiky ends that can tear through enemies with ease.
Under Demon Masquerade, Alraune’s abilities are fused with Bayonetta that transforms her into a thorny monster and do the same task as the whips.
Alraune needs to be unlocked by completing a side quest in Chapter 3, where you’ll be required to fight off Alraune and other demons after collecting the required Umbran Tears of Blood.
Labolas
Also called the Destroyer of Fates, Labolas is a three-headed, nightmarish demon that comes during the final boss battle in Chapter 14. At the end of the chapter, the demon’s strengths are trapped inside the Cruel Altea.
Labolas has extremely sharp teeth and claws that can tear the flesh off of enemies in a blink of an eye. With the help of Demon Masquerade, Bayonetta turns into a strong, half-human-half-monster creature when Cruel Altea is equipped.
Rodin
The Infinite One, Rodin, brought Bayonetta most of the weapons she used through the game series.
The arms-dealer of The Gates of Hell is claimed to be one of the most dangerous demons in the game but he has all but harmed Bayonetta in the entire game series, let alone Bayonetta 3.
Furthermore, you can play as Rodin in Tag Climax.
Cheshire
The Demon Slave of Viola, Cheshire looks like a pretty healthy cat but with the characteristics of a demon.
Cheshire aids Viola in her battles against the Homunculi, but unlike the Demon Slave skill of Bayonetta, Viola can’t control Cheshire’s actions during battle.
Cheshire makes use of its sharp claws to hurt enemies and helps Viola chase down enemies. However, while moving on Cheshire, Viola will be unable to use the Mab Dachi, since Cheshire is associated with the weapon.
Madama Styx
Madama Styx is tied to the All 4 One weapon, which belongs to Jeanne in Bayonetta 3. She’s one of the Contracted Demons from the Infernal Demons race.
During Demon Masquerade, Jeanne can transform into a demonic form, somewhat like Madama Styx.
Mamada Styx is quite similar to Bayonetta’s Madama Butterfly, and even features similar abilities. Madama Styx can be extremely strong with the implementation of Wicked Weaves too!
Wrapping Up
The variety of demons is endless in Bayonetta 3. The addition of the Demon Slave mechanic has made them even more attractive and exciting to play during combats.
What impresses me the most is that each demon comes with a set of unique looks, skills, and abilities.
It’s always exciting (and sometimes scary!) to find these demons while progressing through the suspenseful chapters in Bayonetta 3!
