The Communications Key is an essential key item in Amnesia The Bunker for progressing the story. It’s needed for accessing the Arsenal Room and finding the Dynamite Bundle later on.

How to Access the Soldier Quarters Area in Amnesia the Bunker
The first thing you’ll need to do in Amnesia The Bunker is to find the Emergency Valve and lift the lockdown.
To get the Valve, find J Delisle’s code from his room (far right room in Officer Quarters), enter the Mission Storage from the vent on the right side of the right door, and unlock J Delisle’s locker at the back side of the room.

Use the handle in front of the Mission Storage and you’ll lift the lockdown, which will allow you to access the Soldier Quarters area.
Where to Find the Communications Key in Amnesia the Bunker
Head straight into the Soldier Quarters area and keep moving straight until you find the locked communications door.
Once you reach the locked door, head left and at the end of the hallway turn left again. Open the wooden door to access the Barracks room.
The fourth bed on the left side, which has the name Tirel, will have the Communications Key.
The key spawns randomly in this bed and can be found in the tray with the name Tirel, under the pillow, or on the rod of the bunk bed. It will always spawn somewhere on this bed.
Where to Use the Communications Key
With the Communications Key obtained from Tirel’s bed, let’s examine where to use it.
Leave the Barrack room from the door you got in and head right. Just on your left side, you’ll find the large bunker door to the Communications Room that is locked.
Use the key on this door and you’ll access the Communications Room.
From there, you can get the Arsenal Code, which will allow you to explore the Arsenal Room and get the Dynamite in Amnesia The Bunker.
