To level up Marines in Aliens Dark Descent, you’ll need to complete missions and focus on the main objectives, events, and bosses.
This is the only thing that matters based on the in-game Codex, as explained in the resource entry “XP”. The total amount of kills and your speed or efficiency while clearing a level do NOT count as they don’t offer extra EXP.
Thus, there are some benefits for stealth kills and avoiding detection.
For under-leveled Marines, you can also consider using the Training Room, which is unlocked after completing the second mission’s main objectives (Berkley’s Docks).
The Training Room can be accessed via the Barracks section and will allow players to give Marines intensive training, which will give them experience without having to deploy them.
How to Promote Marines in Aliens Dark Descent
To promote Marines in Aliens Dark Descent, players will need to upgrade them after returning to the Ortega, right after the mission summary, or by accessing the Command Deck and selecting ‘Promote Marines in the Armory’.
