Let’s take a look at the best Mahjong games to play on your PC or laptop this year. There are tons of such games available on various platforms, but only a few are truly amazing. And today I am here to help you find them!

Mahjong Soul

Released in July 2024, this is a next-level Mahjong experience, bringing multiplayer to the table – literally. Keep in mind that we’re talking about the classic Japanese Mahjong gameplay.

In this game, you can test your mahjong skills against players from all over the world (or play against friends), but also bond with the in-game virtual characters and experience their stories.

With few new Mahjong releases, Mahjong Soul comes like a breath of fresh air for those looking to play.

If you really want a challenge that goes a bit away from the traditional mahjong format with brand new and creative sets, this one is for you.

Spread out over 8 different worlds and with 640 puzzles to enjoy in 2D or 3D, Mahjong Deluxe 3 is a game that shouldn’t be missing from your collection. You will love it!

Puzzles are laid out using random tile orders, allowing you to replay each layout many times with a new experience each session and they vary from traditional layouts to completely unique ones.

Mahjongus: Mystery of Fortescue

A game mixing Mahjong challenges with hidden object scenes for variety, Mahjongus: Mystery of Fortescue is a must-play for fans of the genre who also want to follow a well written story.

Join Victor Graves, a renowned expert in runic sorcery and a graduate of the prestigious Academy of Magic, as you accompany him on a quest to unravel the secrets hidden within the Academy’s ancient halls.

150 levels to play (plus 14 HoG scenes), beautiful graphics and a nice story. Perfect!

Mahjong on Solitaired.com

Mahjong on Solitaired.com is a browser game that can be played on any computer or phone as long as it has an internet connection.

You don’t have to keep the connection for the entire game, but you do need it if you want to change the style or press any buttons along the way.

It has an original, yet simple look and comes with a few styles to choose from. The design brings back memories of when I first started to play Mahjong on my computer.

Released in November 2024, this Mahjong game is straightforward and no-nonsense. Classic mahjong gameplay with crisp-clear tiles and a nice theme.

An older series of games, but one that remains among my mahjong favorites.

The twist here is that there’s a story involved, nicely intertwined with the challenging levels. This game offers a perfect balance in terms of difficulty, giving you reasons to celebrate each time you complete a level (but without them becoming too frustrating).

Mahjongg: Legends of the Tiles

Another classic that you can’t help but love! This one has a charming, realistic style and offers an amazing Mahjong experience.

If you like numbers, you will be happy to hear that there are 10 different game modes, 15 different mahjong tile sets to choose from, as well as 75 beautiful backgrounds and 75 expertly designed layouts. As we said – all offering an amazing Mahjong experience. You will love it.

Mahjong Destiny

This is another great Mahjong game that you should definitely try out. It has a unique approach in the sense that it tells the story of a young maiden in her quest to meet her loved one. And, of course, she needs your help!

Inspired by the works of Irish poet Thomas Moore, the game includes 74 puzzles to complete, and even though it’s not as complex as others on the list, it’s still highly replayable (since tiles are randomized each time) and extremely relaxing.

Make sure to at least check it out – chances are you will fall in love with it!

Mahjong World Contest

While you won’t be playing against other human players, the competitive nature of the story surely keeps you going.

A good game overall, with plenty of boards and levels and hours of gameplay. Exactly what you need from a solid Mahjong game.

The main protagonist, who is a real fan of Mahjong, decides to take part in a world tournament of Modern Mahjong Puzzle.

The tournament is split into several qualifying rounds. To take part in each round, you will have to achieve a certain rank. Climb up the ladder and win the game.
